That would mean Lebron isn't a generational talent

To my sensibility, being labeled a generational talent is about fame level as much as their dominance. Someone who defines an era and transcends sports so much even casual & non-sports fans know them. Curry and James would be the closest two guys to that in today's game.

Generational talent, as in 1 per generation, Since the early 90’s I think there’s 2, Jordan and LeBron. Otherwise we have terms like star and superstar.

    Lack of talent of teammates

Not saying he isn't. Saying by that logic

Idk man. I feel like I got to live through most of Jordan and all of Lebron. Kobe is there with them.

Strong disagree. Kobe is the most overrated player I can think of (especially now that people seem to be relaxing on how good Iverson was).

I think Curry is a much more efficient player than Kobe and I think he's been more influential on the game, for example. Kobe was like a poor man's Jordan, while Curry is blazing a new trail.

    Switch out Kobe and Giannis.

I hated Kobe the entire time he played but he is an all time great, not a B list. That's my only disagreement.

I don't even know how to respond to this.

I feel like too many people are allowing their hatred of the Lakers to blur their opinions on Kobe.

Curry is not better than Kobe. Sorry.

I hated Kobe and I agree. Kobe could put his team on his back. When Thompson has been injured Curry’s teams have struggled. I remember watching Kobe will his team to victory time and time again.

Amd I’m not talking about post Achilles injury ‘washed up’ Kobe.

I love me some Kobe Bryant.

He isn’t even close to MJ or LeBron.
    Not. Even. Close.

Kobe Bryant had a PER over 25 3 times.
LeBron has had a PER under 25 3 times.

I think LeBron and Jordan were on a different level than Kobe. I might have some left over Kobe-hate which I’ve never had for Jordan or LeBron to the same degree. But to me Kobe just seemed like an incredible player, so was Duncan, Nash, Curry and KD. See, if you let the club open to one extra then how do you stay the line. Was Duncan less deserving than Kobe? Nash and Curry changed how the game was played. But generational to me, means 1 per generation. MJ & LJ are easily one step beyond Kobe . But I would put Kobe is the holy-fucking-amazing category.

It’s almost unanimous on the “lists” that Duncan is superior to Kobe.

I'd take Duncan over Kobe every time. I'd take Duncan over LeBron as well, if building a team from scratch.
