Keeping our pick? This might be a Lottery year

Discussion in 'Portland Trail Blazers' started by TBpup, Dec 5, 2021.

?

Make the pick for the Future.....or trade it for 'now'?

  1. One last attempt

  2. Build for the future....one player won't make enough of a difference

  3. Get bad enough to where the pick makes an immediate impact

Well, the Pacers Kinged it. With the shot clock off and the game tied, Indiana's Jalen Smith committed an intentional foul.
Still only down two with plenty of time to get a shot off (14 seconds from full court), Malcolm Brogdon threw a terrible (with 7.3 seconds still on the clock) pass to a cutter (Buddy Hield) down the lane that hit the arm of a Cleveland defender (Dean Wade) who was completely draped over Hield. There was no opening there whatsoever.
    Game over.

Indiana came back and had a 2-point lead with 40 seconds left in the game.

Kings and Pacers are just better at tanking than the Blazers. They're still losing games just like we are, but they give hope in the process before falling at the finish line every time. Our games are over before they even start.

Because the way we're doing it is earning the franchise a level of national ridicule we haven't seen before. I'm generally of the opinion that tanking should be slightly less obvious than this.

they dont want to say to the players to lose, so they make sure they lose by putting bad team out there

I swear the blazers fans are the whiniest. When we were winning it’s why aren’t we tanking when we’re tanking it’s why are we tanking this hard, just shut up already please.

idk what your stance was when they were winning games pre shutting down players, so it wasn’t necessarily directed at you.

Those 2 losses in a row puts the Pels 7 back in the win column to get to #8. Very likely they will have to win 2 play in games. Hope LeBron and AD are healthy by then.

Today the Pistons can record their 19th win of the season by beating Chicago in Detroit. It would be Detroit's 4th win in a row. Isaiah Stewart is out but this could be Marvin Bagley's time to shine.
The Kings will be without Domantas Sabonis due to one-game suspension for making contact with an official. The Kings play Denver in Sacramento.
In San Antonio, the Spurs can get their 26th win by beating the Raptors.
The Lakers and Pelicans also play. The Lakers in Houston, and the Pelicans at home against the Magic.
The Blazers can remain at 25 wins with a loss in Salt Lake City to the Jazz.

Very tough... but if it gets Portland a 2nd Lottery pick that helps us get a front line player, will have to stomach it.

In the last 10 games, the Blazers have as good or better of a record as 8 of the teams currently in the Lottery.

The Blazers are 0-6 in their last six games. They have lost by an average margin of 32 points.
How does that compare to other teams? That is the Blazer team that will be playing.
