The Ronald Reagan party being pro Putin isn’t something I saw coming prior to 2016 but here we are. Fucking assholes
It is definitely one of the most bizarre twists of the 21st century. I never thought I'd see pro-Russian sentiment among Americans.... and the funny part is that most of them would proudly yell WOLVERINES or some dumb shit if we were attacked by Russia.
This is wrong. This can cause crazies to start attacking russian americans, much like muslims after 911. Reckless and dangerous. The government, the military, fair game. What they are doing is atrocious and will likely be devastating for decades. But we have got to stop lumping all in one. There ARE innocent people who are not strong enough to stand up to the government. Just because they may lack the courage doesn't make them evil, especially those who fled/migrated to this country.
For once, I agree with you. Promoting a new round of xenophobic behavior is a terrible idea. It always is.
C Nobody is going to attack Russian Americans. You'll find the idiots who would do that to Muslims and Asians are good with Putin...
Don't underestimate the stupidity and xenophobia of others. It can happen and already is. The longer this thing goes on the worse it will get. I agree that Russian Americans needs support, much like Asian Americans did during the pandemic and Muslim Americans during 9/11 times. Facebook is the worst thing to happen to us and is literally promoting hate for advertising clicks. It's their business model. Zuckerberg doesn't care who hates who as long as they click.
Russian state television DEFIES President Putin's propaganda edict and broadcasts criticism of the war in Ukraine - with guests describing the shambolic invasion as 'like Afghanistan, but even WORSE' Putin's war on freedom of expression in Russia appeared to be fraying at the edges on Thursday Guests on Kremlin-backed television defied Moscow and openly criticised the ongoing war in Ukraine Some said the invasion was worse than the Afghanistan operation in the 1980s which ended in failure Putin has intensified a crackdown on media and individuals who fail to hew to the Kremlin line on the war Putin's war on freedom of expression in Russia appeared to be fraying at the edges on Thursday after guests on Kremlin-backed TV defied Moscow and openly criticised the brutal conflict in Ukraine, calling the invasion 'even worse than Afghanistan'. Guests have refused to support the narrative pushed through by television hosts on Putin's request that Russia has been conducting a 'special operation' to 'demilitarise' and 'de-Nazify' Ukraine – claims dismissed as baseless pretexts by Kyiv and her partners in the West. One who appeared on one of Russia 1's prime time talk show 'An Evening with Vladimir Soloviev' rebelled by referring to the USSR's disastrous invasion of Afghanistan in 1979 which ended in withdrawal ten years later. Historians argue that Moscow's failure in that war, in which thousands of Red Army troops were killed, fuelled disillusionment among millions of people in the Soviet Union and ultimately helped to bring about the collapse of the 'Evil Empire' in 1991. The dissenters included Semyond Bagdasarov, an academic, who challenged host Vladimir Soloviev - often referred to as Putin's 'propagandist in chief' - to wonder whether Russia is getting involved in a conflict that would turn out to be even worse than Afghanistan. 'There are more people and they're more advanced in their weapon handling', he said, 'We don't need that. Enough already.' He then added: 'If this picture starts to transform into an absolute humanitarian disaster, even our close allies like China and India will be forced to distance themselves from us.' 'This public opinion, with which they're saturating the entire world, can play out badly for us... Ending this operation will stabilise things within the country.' Karen Shakhnazarov, a filmmaker and state pundit, also sought to bust the Kremlin's narrative that it is conducting a limited 'special operation' in the Donbass region by referencing attacks on the capital of Kyiv - which is located hundreds of miles away. 'I have a hard time imagining taking cities such as Kyiv. I can't imagine how that would look,' he said, even as Putin's troops close in on the capital and launch attacks into the outskirts. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...state-TV-invasion-like-Afghanistan-worse.html
Russian troops in Ukraine have been issued gas masks as chemical warfare equipment is seized from captured troops amid warnings from the West that Putin will launch a gas attack
Have you ever played the game Risk? It's exactly the way to take over the game if you draw your power in Asia. On a side note the only way to win if you draw your power in the US is to take over Canada and South America.
Just keep posting the things we all need to see and hear. The thread has been cleaned up. Thank you very much.
Amazon marketplace is still selling Republican Party T shirts with slogan "I'd rather be Russian than Democrat".
Yes I used to love that game. Currently Ukraine is rolling 6s, let's hope it makes Putin rage quit. My strategy was to always take Australia first so I could get a foothold into Asia. Australia was so easy to defend and the troop bonus helped a lot early.
