We already know who the bad people are. Just need to mark their ID card when they are given the designation (and added to the database) and when they renew. Problem solved (as well as possible) in 2 years with minimal pushback. Getting the 33 states on board for background checks who aren't already will take 50 years, if it ever happens at all.
I would start with some obvious basics. A gun must have a physical trigger. A gun must not be remotely operated. (ie: drones, smartphones, etc.) A gun must fire a projectile. A gun must be aimed manually.
But, that's not happening. What's happening is a gun free for all. There is going to be a huge uptick in shootings in these states.
Possibly. But violent crime or murder rates will not change. We're having the wrong conversation if we want to save and improve lives.
Those are a good start because we already have many options available that bypass these basic functions and it’s going to be commonplace very soon. Think about robotics being very active soon as well.
"This is not a gun..." "You can make shots that were physically impossible..." "You can make shots without looking..."
Glad the SoB was arrested. Let's say there were no drugs involved and he received a life sentence. Do you think that would be appropriate?
Sure, he's likely selling guns to felons and other dangerous criminals. I'm not in favor of that. Those people should have their ID marked, IMO, and he should be checking that before giving them access to Firearms.
