Ed good to see you on here bro! Side note: ROOT has nothing to do with the broadcast other than grabbing our signal and sending it into space.
we haven’t made it home yet. stayed by the RG last night and still here but I haven’t felt unsafe yet.
thanks. we made it out. but the wife made us stop at Home Goods. I literally finally said it was time to go, that I’d had all I could handle of HG. I will say I can’t believe how many homeless people there are. it’s out of control and very sad, but that’s true of most major cities across America right now.
I pretty much watch all of every game. Seeing which players are getting better, which might stick around next season. Watch Billups coaching and teaching all game long. Might watch an opposing player who could be a trade target. Love watching all the steals and fast breaks and dunks. Always looking for a great pass or a great cut.
Ya, wish the city would clean it up. It's been long enough. Can't keep using the COVID excuse much longer.
Interestingly though, even before COVID hit, people would tell me how much they loved Portland and how beautiful it is, but were always surprised by the amount of homeless.
Even though its my job, I don't think I could ever NOT watch my favorite team regardless of the situation. These games make the playoff runs that much sweeter right?
I'm a half season ticket holder. It's almost impossible to sell the tickets at any price right now. On Thursday night against San Antonio, I hadn't sold my tix but I also couldn't get up the mojo to go watch. I didn't go, ate the tix. They lost by 30.
I watch every minute of every game. Obviously I'm not rooting for or expecting wins. I find the games to be interesting. The offensive and defensive schemes. The players' strengths, weaknesses and tendencies. The hustle and determination. I especially enjoy watching Chauncey teach these guys and watching their development. This is something that would normally happen in practice, that I would not otherwise get to see. Importantly, I don't see these as "tank games." These games have two functions: evaluate prospects and develop players. I enjoy it. Tanking is merely a happy byproduct. Another is the hilarity that is CJ Elleby. Priceless.
