"The club realizes it won't know how Pennington's comeback will turn out until after the major part of free agency and next April's draft are long over. They understand that one way or another they must add a potential franchise quarterback before Pennington even gets back on the field."Source: Star LedgerHello Marcus Vick?
Maybe even Drew Brees, cuz he's gonna be a free-agent too, and after reading that article's inclusion of Free Agency and not the Draft in April makes it seem like they want someone who can take over right away (cuz most rookies wait a year to start)But yeah, if they don't sign a free-agent for their QB, I'de say your right about them drafting Marcus Vick, that'd be so cool
With the money were paying Pennington though, we cant afford a second big name QB under the cap. So either we get a big time backup like Billy Volek or Patrick Ramsey or we draft one IMO.
Billy Volek would be a great pick-up. He is not that bad. Not sure if he is supposed to be a free agent soon. About Patrick Ramsey? Hell no lol. I'm hearing Phililip Rivers wants to leave so Drew Brees may be staying in SD.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (xpostxscript @ Oct 13 2005, 02:07 PM)</div><div class='quotemain'>About Patrick Ramsey? Hell no</div> Agreed--Pat Ramsey sucks he's terrible, I wish I never had to waste my time watching him be a QB for Washington, he is my least favorite player on the team. DO NOT BE HAPPY IF YOU GET HIM. BE UNHAPPY Although, I wouldn't mind if the 'skins got rid of him; take him if you want himAlso, forget what I said about picking up someone like Brees as a free-agent, I completely forgot Pennington was still gonna be on the team for some reason, drafting a QB makes perfect sense.
Jets are definately gonna draft Marcus Vick.. and they should cut pennington, take their cap penalty and start rebuilding, because they aren't going anywhere with pennington, and hello.... Vinny Testaverde?!? Hes currently the QB, and is already 1-0 for em! Im hoping he keeps it up, but if he cant, which is understandable because of their loss of santana moss they suck, and lavernias coles blows so dont even give me that crap, then they should definately draft Marcus Vick.
Yeah, because Laveranues Coles hasnt struggled having to deal with playing for 4 different Quarterbacks in 5 weeks. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>You gotta be kidding me with this.He is nicknamed Sideline Santana for a reason. You are talking about a player who OPENLY ADMITTED running to the sidelines to avoid getting hit instead of trying to get some extra yards. You are talking about a player who has suffered from a major case of Hamstring injuries his entire career and when he is playing hurt he is useless. Thats why he is Sideline Santana, because his injured ass is sitting on the sidelines or he is running towards the sidelines. He is about as soft as it gets and will never be a true #1 Wide Reciever in the NFL.Laveranues Coles on the other hand has something that Santana Moss will never have, heart. He plays the game like it is meant to be played, where he will give you 120% on every down. He is one of the best blocking WR's in the game, he is one of the fastest players in the game and he has good hands(although he has dropped a few lame duck passes from Pennington and Bollinger this season). His stats are down because he has had to deal with having the Quarterback Carousel in New York and yet he had his best game yet last week, when a Quarterback who wasnt injured and didnt suck finally was in there. He put up roughly 90 yards against one hell of a Tampa Bay defense.Who would I rather have on my team? I dont care what the stats say, but I want the better player and for that, The Answer is Easy, Laveranues Coles.</div>
