I swear I’ll give it another couple years and we’re gonna have 30% of the games on these dumb fuck channels that I’m not paying for

Thankfully somebody gave me their stream. Fucking stupid.

Gallant does not seem to think of Braun very highly. The guy scored a goal and played a good d. Gets scratched the next game in favor of Nemeth. :beatinto:

Motte makes pretty much every defenseman look like they are moving in slow motion.

A methodical game. Rangers could have a few more but the pens are getting some high scoring chances also. Come out and have a strong third and we’re tied for first!

Perhaps it really is best staying with a first round matchup with Pittsburgh.

The East is so stacked...there really is no easy matchup. Good to see the Rangers get another win against the Pens....3 out of 4 this year I think. But I wouldn't go into a potential playoff series against them overly confident...they only played 2 games against both Crosby and Malkin (going 1-1) and in the 4 games combined the Rangers scored only once on the PP. Penguins have a very good PK to begin with. Rangers will need to produce at 5 on 5 and stay out of the box.
First place in the Metro isn't out of reach though, not that that would give them any additional advantage.
Hopefully Motte isn't too hurt but it looked like a separated shoulder the way he was coming off the ice. I would like to face the Pens only for the intensity of the games...having so many games in such a short period of time has done a lot to increase the animosity...would be interesting to see it play out when the games actually mean something.

Rest Motte until the playoffs and hopefully he'd be ready to go. Plenty of bodies now anyway to finish it out.

Agree 100%. I rather play the Pens than the Caps in round 1. Big game Saturday, Caps at Pens. Go Pens. If they win they'll be 8 points up, and just about lock in the round 1 matchup. Caps win and they'll be 4 back with 2 games in hand, and Caps would have the momentum.

Much rather play the Caps. Don't like the idea of beating a team 3 straight then playing them in the playoffs. Plus, their PK unit makes our PP useless. Reeves renders Wilson useless.

Yeah I'd kind of agree that the Caps might actually be a more favorable matchup. Jarry is better than either Pitt goalie too. Either way the Rangers are going to have to tighten things up defensively in front of Igor going in.

I disagree. The Pens have 5 or 6 good players. They don't have any real depth. They are not a physical team at all. And both teams goalies are way unproven. Overall I think we'll beat either team, but I prefer the Pens if given the choice, and think that series would be much easier on us physically in the long run.

On Friday, the team announced that Motte suffered a significant upper-body injury and there was no timetable for his return.

“I thought last night it was a blow to the head, but it was the back part of the shoulder that got him, so I don’t think it was as bad as I thought originally,” Gallant commented on the hit. I still didn’t like it.”

Gallant did stop short of saying that Motte was out for the season, stating he did not know if that was the case.

The Rangers also announced that Filip Chytil was out, but the head coach made it a point to say it was just “day-to-day.”

Kakko has been out since January 21 with an upper-body injury but finally skated with the team at practice. He was a third line centered by Barclay Goodrow in place of the injured Chytil and Alexis Lafreniere on the opposite flank.

Kevin Rooney, who has been out since March 2 with an upper-body injury may also be close to returning.

“They looked really good out there and they’ve been skating a long time,” Gallant said. “Conditioning is not an issue. We’ll see what the trainers say and we’ll find out this afternoon what the plan is.”

The head coach also noted that there was definitely a chance they could play tomorrow when the Rangers host the Ottawa Senators.

Pretty soon the vast majority of watchable programming will be airing on pay/streaming services.

Watching this game, I really don't know why anyone would rather play the Caps. Again, I think we'd beat either team, but the Pens are a much softer team, and are top heavy with no depth, and a weak goalie. All they have going for them is Crosby and Malkin are obviously great, but outside of those two it is a whatever team at best. Stand by my comments, I rather play the Pens over the Caps. Now it is just about a toss-up - Pens up 4 points, but they are struggling and the Caps have two games in hand.

I'll also add, do not win the division. If we do we get TB or Boston in round 1, and most likely Carolina in round 2. I much rather play the Pens or Caps in round 1, and still most likely Carolina in round 2.

Matchups and getting beat up matter in the NHL playoffs. Best road is Pens somehow hold onto 3rd, and we stay in 2nd.

Getting interesting.

Sucks the Buffalo blew it....but speaking of cha-ching...if you want a good bet...do a game prop that Buffalo or Ottawa score first but lose their game....happens to those two teams all the time.
@BigDaddyAl1973 I hope you took my advice...got the hard part out of the way already tonight!
