Supporting Ukraine via hardware and finances is far less of a danger (nuclear, or otherwise) than any other option. The only other option would be forcing Ukraine to give in to Russia and hoping they stop. Which they will not. The US is doing the right thing here, as long as Ukraine is willing to fight. This is the least risky action for the near term as well as the long term. This will cost Russian leadership the most support as well.
Given our nation’s history, I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re fighting Ukraine in ten or so years. Isn’t that America’s playbook? We get into conflicts with whoever we were funding 10 years prior so their insurgents can use our own weapons against us? If someone was into perpetual warfare with enriching military contractors as the outcome, this play would work nicely…
This is much more important right now than Roe vs Wade IMO. Hoping we don’t just move on to the next story.
Russia has transitioned to just demolishing the whole country. They aren't going to try and hold anything. They are going to carpet bomb every city until nobody wants to live there anymore. This is going to be tough... Russia is very good at this tactic...
Wouldn't be surprised if Putin gets to his last nerve and starts dropping nukes on Ukraine. He would rather no one have it, if he can't.
