Igor is an excellent goalie but still has a lot to learn and has maturing to do. People anointed him the next Lundqvist too soon.
Committing to Zibanejad long-term was not a good idea by the way he has performed historically in the playoffs. He will get his points in the regular season and then does not show up in the playoffs as usual.
Agreed with first part for sure. He does need to mature. And to this point we still do not know if he can be the guy in big spots. Hank was such a competitor and monster in big spots, let's not pretend we know Igor can handle that yet. We don't know - and after these two games it is very much an open question.
All alone in front. And not saying that was his fault, but jesus has Igor made any big saves in Pitt. I mean my lord he has been at best average.
This is absolutely embarrassing for Igor. The guy cannot make even one somewhat difficult save. Yes tipped, but come on man the puck went right through him. What a joke. He cannot handle this, that is clear. Not that it matters, but do you even start Igor in game 5... He is just not ready for this, and that is scary for the future. He needs to be that guy. Still can be of course, but now he'll have this in his head. Not sure if mentally he can overcome it. We should all boycott the Rangers next season if they don't improve the 3rd pair D and add someone who can win a FO. I would also add if they re-sign Strome. He 100000000% needs to be gone. I rather have Copp by a mile. And Z, Kreider, Panarin (who also concerns me) didn't even show up tonight. This was by miles their worst performance of the series.
