Unbelievable out here on the Pacific coast, an actual Yankees telecast, only the 4th all season.

Typically MLB TV, tends to telecast whoever is in first place, and the Yankees have been in first place for the better part of the entire year WTF.
So much makes little sense anymore in this day and age!

Michael Kay introducing Judge's first at bat:

"3 days on the turf in Center Field, that's a lot of time to be out there, so they give him the DH spot."

More pussification of MLB evidence. Who's the bigger pussy Michael K for thinking anyone needs a break after 3 days on AstroTurf, or Aaron Boone or Judge?

Of the 3 I'd say it's anyone but Judge, no way is he going to ask for a day off playing defense.

Terrible AB by Higgy...went after 2 pitches out of the strike zone and failed to get the runner home...and predictably, Gallo fares no better.

I was hoping Higgy would improve his Offense this season, but so far there's nothing he's done with his bat to believe so.

Hicks can't hit with risp, hell he can't hit it all anymore.
Gallo... simply a Bum deal offensively? and perhaps a couple errors away from being a total bust?

2 freaking innings in a row that we had runners on 1st and third, once with one out and again with nobody out, and we can't even score one run?...this is, and has been for a long time been the reason why the Rays are better than the Yanx...they simply have more "real ball players".

I don't have a problem with hitters trying to go yard early in the count but goddamnit when there's runners in scoring position, cut down on your swing and concentrate on simply making contact.

Today's game is a far stretch from the one I grew up with.

Yankees are just NOT hitting with men on base. Another wasted good pitching performance. Games like today
will eventually bite this team in the ass…..and all their manager will do is shrug his shoulders and blow his
    bubble gum.

Thanks for coming in maranacio with your 2 walks and a hot batter you poured gasoline on the fire and have allowed me to get back to my barbecue as this baby is over!

There's something about the number 16 with Judge.

He had 16 home runs in 32 games coming into this game. He had been homeless versus the Tampa Bay rays during the prior 15 games and on this the 16th he hits
    a home run!

Rizzo, Hicks, Higgy and Gallo are contributing nothing offensively. It's not going to work in the long run. You can't expect your pitchers to hold everyone to one or two runs every game. You can't have multiple lineup regulars batting at or below .200.

Joey Gallo: 2 for his last 29 (.069) Anthony Rizzo: 3 for his last 26 (.115) Aaron Hicks: 7 for his last 58 (.121) Kyle Higashioka: 3 for his last 20 (.150).

Then there's Aaron Boone who is an absolute horrendous manager who never makes a correct decision.

We could have just as easily left Tampa with an 8 1/2 game lead.

I wish one of our gutless beat reporters would ask Boone why the hell he never uses Schmidt who has been lights out every time the kid has pitched instead of maraschino cherries and the always horrible luetke. As always Boone is his own worst enemy and as 59 said we threw away 2 games due to his brutal managing despite the horrendous offense this team has shown. If I’m judge the asking price continues to go up and if I’m him not sure I want to stay with an organization as inept as this one.

The way Rizzo began this season, I thought we were in for a treat, and I expected Rizzo to make the short porch his home for hard-hit deep balls.

    April/March- 20 GS/ 77 ABs/ 21 Hits/ 21 RBIs/ 9 HRs/ 13 SOs/ .273 AVG/ .391 OBP%/ .675 SLG%/ 1.067 OPS
    May- 26 GS/ 92 ABs/ 15 Hits/ 7 RBIs / 2 HRs/ 20 SOs/ .163 AVG/ .269 OBP%/ .304 SLG%/ .573 OPS

What a glaring difference, coming from the guy who once advocated for a shorter season, to accommodate for inclement weather, the opposite of Ernie Banks's approach:
Ernie used to say, especially in the long years of hot summers — "It's a beautiful day for a ballgame. Let's play two today!"
