It's happened on military bases before....an officer flipped out in Texas and shot up the joint. When these things happen it is rarely predictable...you assume people on guard duty see everything....I stood a lot of guard duty and will be the first to tell you, not everything gets noticed
Yeah, It could certainly happen. This just seems like a good balance of a reasonable amount of precautions without making it seem scary. It's been very well done. I'm not overly worried about a person capable of physically overpowering a teacher and planning a way to attack the school that way. If they have that amount of mental capability and motivation it's going to be next to impossible to stop them from causing some damage. A person that motivated would have no trouble coming up with a deadly weapon regardless of gun laws. We're going to have to deal with guys like the DC sniper and the Vegas Millionaire committing horrible acts every now and then. It's unfortunate, but until we make greater social advances it's an unfortunate reality.

So now you have to get a 2/3 vote in both The House and The Senate, then you have to convince 38 states to support it. 21 states currently require no permits for concealed or open carry. Up from 15 last year. When do you expect this constitutional convention to happen?

Yep, any police officer who thinks those police were right need to turn in their badge. That school needed better security. We need universal Healthcare, education, and an improved social safety net like other first world countries have. There are no constitutional blocks to any of those steps, and there has actually been movement in that direction over recent years.
