With the Drafting of Barnes, and his rookie year usage, someone in that frontcourt is most likely on their way out. Can't seeing them being able to max out 3 frontcourt players and still retain Van Vleet.
No. Theres also no way Toronto would do that. I think they value OG more than that unfortunately. Its just a trade that made sense in my mind and is a pipedream. Fischer's idea was Hart plus 7 for OG. Then using max space to sign LaVine to essentially field a lineup of Dame/Ant/LaVine/OG/Nurk. Looks nice but is super expensive and isn't as balanced as i would like.
Raptors aren't going to just move OG. #7 pick would likely be the starting point for them. Adding OG to this roster would not make a contender.
But it would help. Add OG & John Collins, along with the other pieces on the team, and i'd like our chances.
I’d love OG here, but not for the #7 pick. OG is not a star. He’s an elite role player. That’s valuable, but the lessons from the Covington, Afflalo, and Nance trades are clear: you do not trade first round picks for role players, especially top 10 picks.
My guess is Toronto would prefer the TPE and #7. They don't need Hart, they have Trent and they could use #7 to draft Mathurin.
That is a pipedream. There is a one in a million chance we could pull something like that off in one offseason.
No. We can't trade a 2022 draft pick with an upcoming free agent. There could be a trade for a 2022 draft pick that is finalized in July, and later could have a sign and trade combined with it. But the draft aspect would need to be agreed to prior. If its for later year picks, then that would just be part of a sign and trade agreed to in July.
Siakam vs OG I think most (myself included) would prefer Siakam but obviously, OG is easier to get. I like Siakam because my impression is he can create his own shot better. But OG seems to be a better 3pt shooter. They are both pretty close in size (1 " difference) Siakam: 6′ 8″ (7'3" wingspan) Weight: 230 lbs OG 6'7" (7'2" wingspan) Weight 230
i love OG and think his game and strengths fit perfectly for our team, but he's really injury prone. if he were an ironman like Mikal Bridges, I would not hesitate to give up our pick for him.... but he's not. I would rather trade up for Murray than give up our TPE and 7 for OG.
This. I vetted this out a bit (I think in the 'Blazers trade #7' thread) as to why they would go this route. They have some cap issues now and more coming up with FVV, Siakim, Grant, etc. They would like a center (hence some interest in talks with Utah) but that doesn't help their cap situation like Portland can.
I don't understand why people keep devaluing Josh Hart. I love that guy. The grass is not always greener.
