Well, murder and gun violence rates have not gone up as a result of strict gun laws in the rest of the industrialized world for well over a Billion people. Also, states such as Illinois with more strict gun laws get their guns from states like Indiana were laws are loose.

There are all Republicans and two Democrats that would prevent that. The two Democrats would lose reelections should they vote with the Democrats on this issue and that would be even worse. Same goes for packing the court.

As long as they are trained and responsible they should be allowed to arm and defend themselves. Absolutely agree. I don't think anybody is being forced into something they don't want.
