They ended looking bad in this one which happens. Their skating was a step behind, too many turnovers, dumb penalties and sloppy passing.
Tough loss but TB outplayed us in the 3rd and we blew that 4 minute PP big time. BTW, is there a bigger bunch of whiners than some on this board moaning about the refs? More than 50 shots against and idiots are saying we have to beat TB and the NHL? JFC, change your tampons.
Every time you lose a 2-0 lead and the game is disappointing, but we got outplayed and they deserved the W. Series still in our hands. Win Gm 4 and puts them on the chopping block going to NY.
That first goal is all on Igor, but the guy has been lights out once he got rid of the shakes in the PIT series. Biggest reason we're in the position we're in right now.
I just want it called equally. The amount of after whistle shenanigans in this game was ridiculous. The no call on the high stick on the 4 min PP when Chytil caught a stick clearly in the face is a huge missed call but that happens and can be missed. The after the whistle slashing, checking from behind (watch first period to see Strome get crushed from behind right as the whistle blows) and other shit is what I’m upset about because we all know if Reaves went around doing the slashing on goalies or late hits (like after a period ends) on Kucherov, Hedman or Stamkos he’d be called for it.
First goal is actually on Lindgren for not having his stick on the ice to block the shot. Pick goes rig by under his stick and through Igor for the goal. Watch it again.
Still just not a shot he would usually let through him like that. Regardless, they deserved to drop this one. Went on the retreat after the 2-0 lead.
If they get to the 3rd 2-0 instead of only up 1 i think they win that game. The penalty right after Kreiders goal was a big momentum changer.
If you want to look at the bright side the Rangers played an awful game and still had a chance to pull it out.
And BTW - give TB credit. Unlike their team, and coach who I hate BTW, let's actually give the other team some credit. TB was desperate with their season on the line, and after going down 2-0 they turned it on and took it to us - does that sound familiar (something we have done these playoffs). Need to move on, and take game 4 playing desperate hockey. If we lose the series we will regret today, but I expect us to play much better in game 4 and give ourselves a good chance to win and virtually end the series. Frustrating being up 2-0, and then thinking OT where anything can happen, and getting beat with less than 1 min left, but move onto game 4. Win it and we are golden.
Next game they need to play more disciplined, more physical and someone besides Zibanejad and Kreider has to score
Yup - they were desperate, we played like crap, and we still almost won. Good sign for game 4 I think.
You’re not sweeping Tampa. They need to give Kucherov less time in a power play and be more physical and they’ll be OK.
There’s a definite pattern and that’s when they don’t play physical on the road they don’t win. They need to hit Kutcheroff because he’s a hothead
So rangers blow 2 goal lead...and after doing the dishes my wife yells there is a flood in the basement...can't get any better than this
