Here's a deal that I heard a lot about at the beginning of the season, but with the trade deadline passed it would have to happen in the offseason if at all.Now that I think about it, I doubt this will go through. Both players are in contract years, and their respective teams will now most likely let them test free agency instead of signing them both long-term and trading them.Anyway, thoughts?
could work but Chargers have a great DLine and dont really need a guy who costs a lot with a great front. they need defensive backs and maybe a LB aswell as WRs..those can be targets to look for
Every single time something happens a rumor involving Abraham comes up. Being a Jets fan, I can safely say that the most likely option for the Jets is Franchise Tagging Abraham and then trading him for a 1st round pick in the draft(and maybe also a 3rd, depending on how high his value is after the season). Abraham is in my opinion the 2nd best pass rusher in the league after Dwight Freeney, but he isnt very good at run coverage due to being undersized as a DE and has trouble staying on the field which is why he doesnt get the elite status. If we do take on a player in return for Abraham it will probably be a young QB like Phillip Rivers, or possibly a set like Matt Schaub and a 2nd-3rd Round pick. I dont see the Jets trading anything for Brees though cause he has already been in the league 5 years and because the Chargers would be stupid to let him go right now.PS: Abraham plays a Hybrid role for the Jets where he plays Defensive End most of the time but he will drop back in coverage and play as a linebacker at times also. So it wouldnt suprise me to see him Converted back to linebacker (which he was originally drafted as and played in college).

Can you really blame them? Besides, the Jets would be stupid to trade for Schaub, especially since Atlanta is expecting to release him at the end of the season. The Chargers, I'll admit, have a great defensive line, but they could really use Abraham's pass rushing in their attack. I don't see Olshansky make hurdles over the offensive line, so they could definately use the speed.Either way... If I were the Chargers, I'd dump Brees the second I get the chance. I'd also be perfectly fine with having Jamar Fletcher and Drayton Florence manning the cornerback spots, but I wouldn't exactly be happy with my safeties.

Both guys will be good thats for sure but its adouble edged sword with any young QB so you got to forget about wanting to win now( thats tough to do), so that you know the kid will be great later on.
Na i dont think so Jay Fielder is about to comeback anyways and the chargers wouldnt trade bress he has improve alot an they jus wouldnt cause their passing is verygood but also the Jets wouldnt give Abraham away his their best D line man
IMO, the Chargers are more likely to trade Rivers. He's still young with a ton of potential. They'd get more for him than they would for Brees. Brees has indicated he's a solid QB in this league. There's no reason to get rid of him.

Itll take Brees at least a year to learn our system and then he will only be our franchise for 4-5 years instead of a young QB where we are looking at the next 8-10 years with them.
The Jets have a North Dakota native (from the same town I live in) Brooks Bollinger. He'll be their franchise QB. They don't need Brees, or Rivers, or anyone.

First of all, he is about 6'1 which alone puts him at a disadvantage because when he is trying to throw the ball over 6'4 defensive lineman and offensive lineman It is hard for him to even get passes off as many of them are tipped at the line of scrimmage. He has an average at best throwing arm and doesnt seem to be very good at throwing the deep ball, but that could be due to inexperiance, we will see. But overall, I think Brooks is a good kid and can be a future #2 QB, But I dont think we will ever see him as a franchise QB.

I just think he's great since he's from the exact same city I'm from.
