Who knows, maybe this will help create some turnovers and more offense. Kakko has reverted back to his overhandling the puck too much so i say give it a shot.

So Hunt in for Strome who is obviously still hurt (sad way for his Rangers career to end).

I have not been a fan of Kakko's game at all. Doesn't shoot, not aggressive with the puck, doesn't make his presence known. He has a lot of work to do this summer. Young kid, so still time to get there. Even given that, he had to be in over Reaves, happy he is.

Well, Kakko and Panarin will be overhandling the shit out of the puck when they have it if they play like they typically have in the playoffs so Copp better get back to shooting the puck too. Will be an interesting game considering the line combos.

    Lafreniere/Z/Vatrano
    Panarin/Copp/Kakko
    Kreider/Chytil/Goodrow
    Motte/Rooney/Hunt

I like these lines. Lafreniere and Kakko in the top 6. I like the 3rd line also. Perfect world Strome would be healthy and Goodrow would be on the 4th line instead of Rooney or Hunt, but overall I like these lines. Team needs a North-South get pucks on net mentality tonight right from the start.

With the Rangers confidence shaky, you have to think we need to score first to have any chance to win the game.

Strome back out in warmups and Vince saying kakko might still be a scratch! What and Rooney and hunt playing over him? WTF If that happens

Official… kakko scratched. If they lose tonight fire gallant Monday as this is a head scratching move with Rooney and hunt playing over kakko

I don't agree with it, but he isn't getting fired for it. Even though he has been pretty useless, I'd still have Kakko in over Rooney tonight based on potential upside alone. We'll see how it plays out.

I guess lines above with Strome in for Kakko, so usual 2nd line.

Agreed - I don't like it. Who knows, maybe it works out. But I am not a fan of it.

So we went from being able to roll out 4 lines to now 2 lines. Incredible. In an elimination game too. Mind bogglingly stupid. Let’s get mad at a kid that gets 10 minutes a game as opposed to Panarin who has done equally as little with quadruple the ice time. Safe to say Kakko is gone from here and I don’t blame him. I wouldn’t want to play for a coach that gives more ice time to 4th line guys over kids who should be the face of the franchise.

The reason I say two by the way is because give it 10 minutes before Kreider is moved up and the third line is totally useless.

Love the officiating. Maroon with a late hack. No whistle. Maroon then rips off the helmet of Trouba who’s defending his goalie, no penalty. Clearly obvious that to win its Rangers vs Tampa Bay Referees.
Just watch all the post whistle shit. Watch how many cross checks, slashes, face washes etc Tampa gets away with. Also, keep track if how often we get thrown out of the face off circle.

TB is better. Period. Aside from one shift the Rangers have been on their heels. TB is better at puck possession and defending in the defensive zone. They stay with their man and are anticipating the Rangers cross-ice passes. It's not even close.

They did have a strong start to the game and obviously smell blood. Need us to start creating some chances though.

Why does it seem like almost every time the Rangers manage to get control of the puck in the d-zone and try to make an exit pass there are two Rangers coming together to receive it?

Gallant is a complete idiot. These lines are complete garbage. The guy just panicked. We won’t be winning any cups with this guy.

Rangers continue their refusal to shoot the puck instead going for the cute east-west passing game. Panarin is teaching all his bad habits to the younger guys. The entire team is starting to do his whole “skate into the zone, stop 3 feet into the zone and then do nothing with the puck and try a cross ice pass which leads to a turnover.”

Kakko had barely played this season. You need fresh legs. If you want to scratch someone then Strome who should be the guy. He can barely move.
