All cats are good cats. I made salmon for dinner and had a bit of leftover cream so Lucia is in a good mood.
Very hot day. Lucia wanted me to do something about it. Best I could manage was turn on ceiling fan so she could lie underneath.

In back yard yesterday with Lucia. As she sat on fence dividing our yard from neighbors', I thought how easy it would be for her to jump from fence to brick wall that runs the back of the street. As if she read my thoughts, she did just that. Sitting or walking on the wall is kitten's play to a cat, but the other side of the wall is a major thoroughfare with heavy traffic. I was afraid she would want to explore and, being the inferior species, I would have to go all around the block to get to her. I got the stepladder and tried to pull her off, but she ran along the wall to neighbors'. Then I put kitty treats on the fence to tempt her. She sat on this high wall preening. When she finally decided to descend, she realized the truth of being a cat: going up is far easier than going down (their claws curve back, so on the way up they are like lineman's/woman's spikes, on the way down they have to scramble). She looked down at the fence, hesitated, then went next door and used their shrubs to descend. While I had heart attacks.
Lucia has learned how to open the screen door and let herself out. Downside of having a very intelligent cat.
You know how I adore Lucia, worship the ground under her paws, she is absolutely the sweetest smartest prettiest best cat in the world. But on scorching nights I wish she would be content to sleep on the foot of the bed instead of tucked next to me. When it's 91F at bedtime I don't need a fur scarf.
