Nah, he was still getting paid. His job was never in jeopardy. He was collecting checks regardless.

I will miss his stories on the players. The one on Trendon Watford was a masterpiece. He is good at these articles. Really good

He inspires me as a journalist to write more in depth articles. The few times I came to Portland I never met him so i can only judge him on his work and very interesting appearances with Mike Richman.

He mentioned loss that can be tough, Ive been there but found that staying busy with what I do, helped best. Even divorce can take its toll. It means death in the greek, but it's not as final.
I was just mentioning to my wife last night, seems like much anxiety going on, with all ages.

Seems ironic that some people are taking Quick's admission of struggling with mental health issues, and turning it into something about them.

How 'Quick' of our board. :bgrin:

You can also dislike an asshole and be completely apathetic about anything related to him personally. That's also allowed. Quite a few things I worry about these days and the midlife crisis of a random asshat isn't one of them.

The guy struggling with mental illness.
Celebrities and athletes are applauded all the time for sharing their battle with the same thing.
Now I see people calling quick out for always making things about himself while some in here are taking his struggles and doing the exact same thing.
Wish the guy well and move on or don’t say anything at all.
    Grow up

Nah bro. It's about him. Those stories are about him and what he did. Most all wished him well. He's the celebrity writer. He's the one that stepped all over people. He's the one that affected people's lives. The people on this board quite often need to grow up but this isn't one of those times. Sorry.

Yes, there are many celebrities and athletes who are also attention whores, that's pretty well established. Most people who go through real shit (hi) don't want to elaborate about it to strangers, let alone post it on fucking twitter.

He has not shown empathy to people throughout his career, he is owed nothing. If he wants to fish for your fake sympathy, fine, but people are allowed to express a different opinion than you and to say otherwise is a pretty immature mindset. Grow up. This culture of people posting empty sentiments and good-wishes on the internet for every single god-damn thing in an effort to somehow make themselves look good to others and feel righteous and morally superior about themselves is pathetic. If you don't know the asshole, quit acting like you fucking care and go blazer another nug.

Well, it's a lot less interesting if we all just posted "cool. Hope he gets better."

I think you might be the one who needs to blaze another nug. If relishing in other peoples problems floats your boat….go right ahead.

My fake sympathy? You don’t know shit about me and I don’t know shit about you so don’t like you do

    Always

Who said I was relishing? I said I don't give a shit and shouldn't feel compelled to because other people want to act like they do.

I was responding to you, but giving a comment about this social media culture where everyone needs to act holier than thou regardless of how ignorant they are of the person or thing they're commenting on. And even worse, this culture of claiming that people can't say otherwise, like you just did.

okay well you said “your fake sympathy”.
    You’re entitled to your opinion.

culture of people not being able to say otherwise…..ahhhhh now I see.

    Carry on

Pretty sure you don't if you're insinuating what I think you are. Pretty funny your mind automatically goes there. But isn't the first thing you're wrong about today.

I think I'll go now before the hate starts piling in.

Admit it, you’re just upset because he’s probably going to have to start mowing lawns through the summer to make ends meet and you dont want the competition.
