    hmm...

i just can't get over the fact that Orlando brought in Sharpe (and Murray) for a workout. Are we all overlooking a possibility of them moving back from #1?

Just doing their due diligence. Be bad GM work on their part if they didn't workout people that are farther down the draft if a trade comes up that's too good to pass up.

CBS has a two round mock out. Have Daniels and Sochan moving up to 5th and 6th and Murray falling to Portland. Sharpe at 10 and Duren at 18, one spot behind Dalen Terry. John Butler who at the combine played in the second scrimmage game, and finished with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocks, while shooting 3/8 from 3 and 5/5 from the FT line, goes undrafted. I guess cuz he is 7' 1" and only weighs 174

Anything is possible, but if I was Orlando's GM I'd have as many guys as I'm interested in potentially adding someday as I could schedule. I'd weigh and measure them, work them out, prod, poke & get to know them... why wouldn't I? Who to draft in 2022 isn't the only question a GM is going to face.

I would be 100% okay with this. Murray could start on day one. Reminds me of Dame a bit, in that regard.

Hollinger put out his big board with tiers. I don't like how closely it aligns with my thought process, but his top 9 is almost identical to what i have. I'd push Ivey to tier 1, and Daniels to tier 5. I don't know what Minott is doing in his top 10, but OK. And nitpicking Tier 1, I'd put Paolo ahead of Jabari.

LaRavia is a SF/PF from Wake. I Found him on CBS mock draft. They have him going with the 41st pick?

Jesus, I just also realized he put Johnny Davis at 29. OK, that I definitely do NOT believe in. I think Davis dropping out of the top 10 is far fetched and think he's fair value at #10. I'd put him in tier 3.

I'm hoping a few of the GMs above us try to outsmart themselves and pick on potential trying to get a homerun and Murray falls to us.

    Tier 3.
    5. Mathurin
    6. Sharpe
    7. Murray

I think the Trail Blazers will draft one of those three. One of them will definitely be available.

Not much talk about Mathurin here, but he is athletic and has proven he can hit 3-point shots.
He's got the size to play guard and small forward. His standing reach was measured at 8'8", just one inch less than Dyson Daniels' 8'9". (Compare those to Josh Hart at 8' 3.5".)

Mathurin weighed 205 lbs at the combine, Daniels was 195 lbs. Mathurin is 9 months older.
Mathurin might not be the defender Daniels is right now, but there's no physical reason why he can't be a good defender, he's got quick feet and that athleticism.
Won't be surprised if Mathurin is picked at 5 or 6.

Mathurin is intriguing. He's more of a prototypical shooting guard. But I don't think it makes sense to draft him unless we're trading Dame or Ant.

Sharpe is more of a project. I think he takes a few years to contribute, similar to Ant.

Murray is plug and play. He'd step into the starting four spot right away.

Sharpe and Mathurin can swing to 3 pretty easily given their wingspans I think. They have about the same profiles as Jaylen Brown.

Sharpe and Mathurin aren't very tall though. Daniels is the only one with the height to play the three. I feel like we'd just be going right back to Dame/CJ/Norm, only now it's Dame/Ant/Mathurin or Sharpe.

Mathurin may be ok at the 3 on a team with a big backcourt, but with our small backcourt of Dame and Ant, we need our 3 to be at least 6’7 or taller, and with a huge wingspan.

Mathurin can play small forward just fine. He is also plug and play.

With the seventh pick you take the best player available, regardless of position. although point guard would not be good for the Blazers.

Mathurin is 6'6 in shoes with a 6'9 wingspan and an 8'8 standing reach.
Sharpe is 6'5 in shoes with a 6'11.5 wingspan and an 8'8 standing reach.

Brown is 6'7 in shoes with a 7' wingspan and 8'9 standing reach.
