Agree he is not worth a lottery pick. But for Milwaukees pick I think he is. He gives Dame someone he wants next year, and he gives a rookie time to develop. I say get both unless the bidding gets too high for him. But for the reason you stated....it shouldn't.
He’s not worth a 1RP period - you don’t take the risk of dumping a pick for a potential rental player who wants a max deal.
This max deal bullshit is getting so tired. The confirmed report for his asking price... not the price he's going to settle for but his asking price is 112M over 4 seasons... that's 90M less than a four year max deal would be for someone who was drafted when he was. The dude is not asking for max money. He's not even asking for CJ McCollum money and that's just what he was asking for to extend in Detroit. So to think that we could get him, if this is a preferred destination of his, for less than his asking price and a deal that started around 24M, is not a stretch.
preach there are always false narratives that seem to always survive even though any honest scrutiny debunks them in a hurry. In other words, bullshit. A max deal for Grant in 2023 would be in the 42-45M/year range
It's not enough for the 7th pick. If we're trading a pick for Grant, we'll trade back. We better not do that shit because I will be livid and so will pretty much everyone else in here.
Outside Dame, what Blazer is more dependable? Hart who has never been to the playoffs and has mostly been a bench playing guard with a poor 3 pt shot is probably the best. I wouldn't classify Nurk as dependable compared to starters up and down most teams in the league. But when you look at this pathetic Blazers roster he probably is.
Why is "trading back" for Grant ok? It's still giving up the Blazers best asset outside DameSimons for a worse asset. Getting a worse draft pick back to justify this is a shady Neil Olshey way of trying to sell a shitty move.
Want nothing to do with Grant but if it is happening with #7 included then it had better also have #5 coming back Portlands way!
If we have a target further back I don't have as big of a problem with it. If the mission is to build a contender around Dame as soon as possible and they think that Dame, Ant and Grant are a core for doing that then they have to add complementary pieces to them. Don't get me wrong, if we're going to acquire Jerami Grant using the TPE, then I think the Pistons should have to settle for pick 36 and the Bucks 2025 FRP but when someone posts some shit about 7 for Grant straight up, I think maybe trading back and at least drafting one guy with untapped potential along with getting Grant sounds better.
If it was possible to trade Ant/7 for Grant/5 I’d consider it. I know he’s a FA, this is hypothetically the only way I would be ok with it. Then Draft Murray at 5. Dame Hart/Keon Grant/Winslow Murray/Nas Nurk/GB3 Depending on FA that might be a good start.
Detroit would agree to that so fast. Hellz no! Not worried about this happening as Ant is worth so much more then that. STOMP
After what he showed last year, I don't know why any Blazer fan wouldn't embrace the idea of him being the lead of their offensive attack. STOMP
