Well, unfortunately, a friend of mine think Big Ben isn't that good as what people thinks. So lets do a poll. I'm being serious so I want a good answer. Is Big Ben one of the best quarterback in the NFL? Top 5?He been throwing the ball more than 20 times like a average quarterback does. And he does it real good. And why does he gotta keep doing it if we have the lead all the time? Uh because Cowher doesn't play STUPID like other Head Coaches does.So what do you think guys? Is Big Ben *cough* overrated *cough* or IS HE A LEGEND IN THE MAKING!?? He makes better decisions than anybody else in the league and that's a fact. People gotta understand football, when you have the lead, you gotta play smart, And how about when we were down, who took us down the field to win us the game, or who put us in field goal range? thats right.. BIG BEN! He deserved all that hype because he proved he is a big-time player even ESPN WERE SAYING HE IS A BIG TIME PLAYER BECAUSE HE GETS THE JOB DONE! I'm guessing my friend hates Big Ben's guts because appreantly he said Bill Cowher will never win a Super Bowl. So reply back, I want to know what you think.edit: He just said Kelly Holcomb is better than Big Ben? LMAO. REPLY!

Kelly Holcomb isnt even close to Big Ben.Big Ben is a solid starting Quarterback, but he does have the advantage of playing with Great players around him. He plays smart, efficient football where he doesnt force bad throws and makes good reads. However, if Big Ben does have an average game, he is always picked up by either the running game of the Defense and if he wasnt playing on Pittsburgh probably would have like 6-7 losses. He is real good at what he does, but he doesnt compare to the Brady, P. Manning, McNabb, Palmer, or Favre. I would put Big Ben in the lower end of the Top 10 Quarterbacks based on his skills of managing a team, but he will never be top 5 until he starts leading a team.

I don't think Ben is in the Top 5 at this point. I do consider him in the Top 10 though. As for Michael Vick. Is Vick a better quarterback? No. Does Vick do a better job of leading his team and carrying it on his shoulders? Yes.I don't feel Marc Bulger is better than Ben. I do agree with Brees, Leftwitch, and Blendsoe, along with the first five that Ven0m listed. Ben is a solid quarterback with good decision-making skills. He wil succeed in this league, there's no doubt about that. I just don't think he has the ability to make players around him better. I don't think you can count on Ben to win the game for you at any given time.

What was Big Ben's Rating last year?98.5 something? ok.What is it this year? [IMG] How could he suck? And about Michael Vick being better.. He cant do S***, hell, he should have been a running back. Stats don't matter!! Nobody can't make excuses. And I kinda got a feeling he is only saying it because of a Cowboys' fan? Well, weren't that our old rival like 7 years ago? [IMG]

No, he's not a top 5 QB. I can name about 6-7 at the top of my head that are better than him. He is good but it's not like he's the only one carrying the team. He has help in the run game and the defense. Maybe in the future, but as of now no.

Brees is better, he doesn't have a Defense like Pitts has so therefor he may have to score more points. And putting up the numbers he does with the #1 back in the NFL, that's no "fluke".And it helps that Ben is on one of the best teams in the NFL since he arrived and isn't asked to throw nearly as much because they are a RUN orientated team.Give it some time, right now I can't say Ben is top 5 because all hes showed me he can do is manage a game, burn some weak defenses now and than and get hurt a helluva alot. <_<And like Mike Vick said, "I don't want you doubting me." He threw for like 200+ yards yesterday and can run it if you need too, so I'd say as of right now Vick IS better. He's a playmaker whereas Ben is a manager.

I don't think Big Ben is a top 5 quarterback1) Peyton Manning - read number 22) Tom Brady - probably would've been number one if Peyton wasn't 7-03) Donovan McNabb - no matter what, he's one of the best4) Carson Palmer - a great QB with great recievers5) Jake Plummer - don't let the big beard fool you [IMG]6) Brett Favre - C'mon, despite their record, he's amazing7) Ben Roethlisberger - will be up there soon8) Drew Brees - don't question me [IMG] 9) Mike Vick - the most overrated player in the NFL, but can run better than most running backs10) Eli Manning - this kid is on fireConsiderable Mentions: Jake Delhomme, Byron Leftwich, Chad Pennington, Marc Bulger, Trent Green, Kerry CollinsThat took a while [IMG]

Leftwich - NoVick - YesBledsoe- NoBulger - NoBrees - YesHe is not a top 5 QB. There are about 7-8 more QB's that are better than him. Like everyone else said he is on a run oriented team (not many teams have 3 quality RB's) and one of the best defenses in the NFL. Brees has no defense which results in a lot of 2 minute drills and him to make bigger plays. When Roethlisberger throws he doesn't go deep very often so throwing crossing routes and screens are what gets his QB rating up.

Plus teams will shut down the run in the Playoffs and force him to beat them with his arm.Much like the Jets and Pats did last year. He almost lost them the game against The Jets but the running game and his defense bailed him out. Pats used the same strat but excecuted it better than the Jets therefor they won.So until Big Ben wins a Playoff game with his arm I can't even put him in the top 10. But that's just me. [IMG]

He only has a good rating because the guy is so conservative, he doesn't want to make mistakes and lose the game. Especially after that Jacksonville game with Maddox starting [IMG]

I think he is. He is the ideal feild general. He doesn't throw bad passes (picks, incompletions), he has a lot of poise in the pocket, he can take off and pick up yards on his feet. He has great vision -- he knows who to look for in certain situations and finds a way to get the ball into that guys hands. He goes in, gets the job done, and goes home--and has fun in the process. He is gonna be one of the all-time greats I think.
