Well see I don't like that at all, but I do like Sharpe at SF, unless we can trade Simons for a SF or PF who's already elite which seems doubtful.
Well he has the athleticism and size to be a great defensive wing, I just don't know if he is and that's what we'll need next to our two little guards.
Everybody is asking too much for players we wanted is my guess...they think, we have Trendon, Naz, Winslow Hart Joe Ingles...we can plug roster holes pretty well at SF or PF now
The blueprint for being good WITH DAME was surround him with big wings that can DEFEND. Even if Sharpe becomes an offensive superstar, I can't see him projecting to a lockdown defender. I dunno. Seriously gotta hope Nas becomes a legit 30+ MPG player.
Dame Ant Hart Sharpe Keon ....the only way Keon sees the floor is during practice. Sharpe won't get much time either....unless they are going small ball with Hart at SF, or there is a trade.
Simons is our current best bet to be the second star next to Dame. Sharpe is probably not going to match Dame's timeline in terms of being the clear #2. I want to keep Sharpe AND Simons and get them both on the floor next to Dame. I really like our lineup next year as far as starters go. PG Dame SG Simons SF Sharpe PF Grant C Nurk That is totally solid and you have decent 7 man with Little and Hart off the bench. The Hayward trade and getting #13 and then drafting Duren (MAYBE?!?!~?!) would be amazing. Hayward and Duren would really fill out our bench.
If we stood pat with this and got some prospects in the second round then we'd probably be able to use the full MLE to add someone like Jalen Smith who Indy has no rights to. Right now we could promise him all of the minutes behind Nurk and some at PF.
You know what this draft broadcast is missing? Mike Schmitz. None of these people on TV have any idea about these players. So glad we have him in house.
If OKC takes Duren then I believe the Blazers and OKC are making a deal with each other -- but that is just a gut feeling
