Just wanted to get others’ thoughts on this draft.

I will give the Blazers (first round) an A+.

No matter how Shaedon Sharpe turns out, they made the right pick in my eyes.

They took a swing on MASSIVE upside. He could be a complete BUST, but in 5 years from now, I’ll still say they made the right decision to not “play it safe” with someone like Daniels or Sochan - two players I’ve been big on for a while now - that went right after him but have obvious questions about their shooting.

I’ve got the same feeling for the Magic going Paolo over Jabari.

Curious to see how it turns out in a few years time, and I’ll probably look stupid, but this was - without a doubt - the right move.

Guess I’ll have to eat some crow on my Joe Clownin avatar. Time to get it changed to something more appropriate!

    What are your thoughts?

Going through the picks here is how I land .....

1st Pick -- B plus ---- Only reason this is not higher is he might be the most BOOM or BUST player in the Top end of the draft ( top 7 to 10 players in draft )
2nd pick ( 46) -- C plus --- I have no issue with trading the pick but i do understand why some maybe wanted a draft and stash type player
3rd Pick (57) --- A --- Walker is a STEAL -- I think some thought there might be a chance he could be a super late 1st or 1st 10 off board in 2nd but he fell -- maybe there is a reason but at next to last pick in draft upside too hard to pass up

My overall Grade --- B plus

    Last thoughts going into FA:

-- Bledsoe was not used last night but for me outside of free agency this is the Blazers TOP priority to try and make the Clipper trade go from a F / D grade and make it better ( C grade or better )

I think Shaedon Sharpe at 7 is an A, I think this guy has the highest ceiling in the draft and the ceiling is the roof as we all know... when you factor in fit to the roster and the timeline of Dame and Grant maybe it's an A-.

I think trading the 46th pick is fine and doesn't deserve a grade.

I think Walker could be a really decent role player... a 3 and D PF. It was the second to last pick in the draft so getting someone that looks like they could contribute down the road I guess deserves a B?

Would you guys still select Sharpe over Jalen Williams, Dyson Daniels and Jalen Duren?

I wanted Sharpe but I also wanted us to trade so we could pick Duren too.

It's a good question. I think all of those guys are contributing more to wins right now. I still think Shaedon has a higher upside than any of the other three and since we're still in a gambling mode... where we need stars, I don't think I could give up a guy who has real star possibility still for a role player, even one as proven and solid all around as Jalen Williams who I think I'd take before Shaedon if we already had a star. I don't think I'd take Dyson Daniels over Shaedon unless I was a team on the cusp of a championship that just needed one defensive specialist at the wing. I guess the same goes for Duren... if I was one super athletic big away from completing a championship roster, I'd obviously take Duren because I'd be in a place where I didn't need to swing for the fences but just needed a slot filled.

All three of the other guys are solid and Shaedon is probably a little worse than Daniels and Duren right now and he's definitely worse than Williams... the highest ceiling is still Shaedon's though, so I think he's the right guy to have on our roster out of the four.
