Yeah I don't want max Ayton on the Blazers, especially if we have a supermax contract for a guard. Its much more important we spend money on a couple wings. Ayton plus vet minimum wings isn't going to get us close to contending. Now if we trade Dame and build a backcourt around Simons/Sharpe it might actually make sense to have Ayton. The team would still have room for good wings. Doesn't sound like the Blazers are doing that any time soon.
Even with Chris Paul, who may be the best post feeder in the League. Phoenix's hesitation has affected my view of Ayton. If there's a place where he would be successful, PHX is it.
