Let's wait a few months into the season and see. Trading away a 34 year old with a long injury history for a huge return could look very damn smart. Many thought the Celtics were dumb to trade away Pierce and Garnett until a few months into the season.
I see an aging, now overrated point guard who always choke in the playoff, a Kobe wannabe with no defense, and Kevin Durant
If I'm Phoenix, I'd offer anyone on the roster except Booker or Bridges. Durrant ($44M) <-> Ayton (S&T $30M) + Crowder ($10M) + Johnson ($6M) + Craig ($5M) Durrant ($44M) <-> Paul ($28M) + Crowder ($10M)
i hope we're not stretching ourselves thin in this effort. while this madness is ongoing, there are other moves that can be made to bolster our current roster.
A Portland trade would look like this: Durant ($44M) <-> Bledsoe ($19.3M) + Hart ($12.9M) + Nas ($4.1M)
Agreed. At the same time, I feel like our moves are better done with trades than free agency, and this news likely slows everything down on that front.
I don't get Brooklyn's motivation to acquire older talent...... they're a long way from competing if Durant is gone.
