2006 FREE AGENTSNovember 13, 2005We've broken out the elbow grease and put together a list of all potential free agents come 2006, if their current deals aren't extended. This list contains only those guys whose contracts expire after the season, and not any players who could end up on the open market if released from current contracts, such as Terrell Owens. The list is subject to change based on renegotiations and other transactions. Teams have until December 31 to re-sign current players and allocate a portion of the signing bonus to the 2005 salary cap.Players with the designation "RFA" have completed three seasons and are subject to the restricted free agency rules.AFC EastNew England: WR David Givens; G Stephen Neal; OT Tom Ashworth; WR Tim Dwight; WR Troy Brown; QB Doug Flutie; FB Heath Evans; RB Mike Cloud; WR Andre' Davis; TE Christian Fauria; S Michael Stone; LB Matt Chatham; CB Hank Poteat; LB Don Davis; K Adam Vinatieri; CB Chad Scott; WR Cedric James.Miami: C Seth McKinney; FB Sammy Morris; OL Stocker McDougle; OL Alonzo Ephraim (RFA); QB Sage Rosenfels; WR Bryan Gilmore; RB Travis Minor; S Lance Schulters; LB Jason Glenn; S Yeremiah Bell (RFA); LB Nick Rogers; CB Kiwaukee Thomas; WR David Boston; WR Kendall Newson.Buffalo: C Trey Teague; WR Sam Aiken (RFA); QB Shane Matthews; LB Angelo Crowell (RFA); CB Nate Clements; DE Ryan Denney; DT Justin Bannan; LB Mario Haggan (RFA); LB Josh Stamer (RFA); LS Mike Schneck; CB Kevin Thomas; DT Ron Edwards.New York Jets: G Jonathan Goodwin; OT Scott Gragg; QB Vinny Testaverde; QB Kliff Kingsbury (RFA); DT James Reed; DE John Abraham; LB Kenyatta Wright; TE Chris Baker.AFC NorthPittsburgh: WR Antwaan Randle El; QB Charlie Batch; WR Quincy Morgan; OT Barrett Brooks; TE Jerame Tuman; WR Sean Morey; RB Verron Haynes; DE Kimo von Oelhoffen; CB Ike Taylor (RFA); S Chris Hope; CB DeShea Townsend; LB Brett Keisel; LB Clint Kriewaldt.Cleveland: WR Antonio Bryant; OT L.J. I think Kerry Collins is going to be cut too after the season. And the Panthers really need to re-sign Deshaun Foster, great player in the years to come.

The Colts are probably taking the biggest hit of them all.

I hope we re-sign Randel El, we really need to. And we need to resign Chris Hope but i'm guessing he wants more money which we don't give. And Kimo von Oelhoffen? not sure, I think he is gonna become a free agent. We should be able to re-sign Deshea Townsend & Ike Taylor as well. I hope Reggie Wayne & Edgerrin James goes to another team so the Colts aren't that dominated next year [IMG]

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>New York Giants: WR Tim Carter; WR David Tyree (RFA); OT Bob Whitfield; TE Visanthe Shiancoe (RFA); QB Tim Hasselbeck; WR Willie Ponder (RFA); TE Sean Berton (RFA); RB Chad Morton; DT Kendrick Clancy; LB Nick Greisen; CB Will Allen; DT Kenderick Allen (RFA); CB Frank Walker (RFA).</div>We've got a lot of guys to make decisions on.Tim Carter has always had a boatload of potential, are they still content with him being the future #2 WR once Toomer retires and sticking with him as the slot reciever, or are they gonna let him go? Tyree has to be resigned, and I'm sure he will be. Whitfield will probably be gone, Shiancoe could be gone but he's more valuable to our offense than people think, Hasselbeck might be back, Ponder will be back, Berton may be back he's been solid on special teams, I'd like to see Chad Morton return to the Giants next year. Will Allen coming back really depends on Will Peterson's health. If they're unsure about it, they may re-sign him. otherwise he's as good as gone, even though he has played well.Nick Greisen will probably be back, he's been real solid this year.We need Kenderick Clancy back, the guy has been a beast.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (iknobaer @ Nov 27 2005, 12:11 AM)</div><div class='quotemain'>BattleStill unsure of what RFA means, but, please dont go</div> It means Restricted Free Agent -- a player who may be free to sign with another team, but with certain restrictions. Often times the player's current team may have to sign off on the deal, or, more frequently, may have the right to match the terms and conditions of the proposed new contract, or the current team may be entitled to compensation in the form of money or draft picks from the player's new team.(Definition courtesy of Dictionary.com) [IMG]

Mathis is a product of playing next to Dwight Freeney and all the double coverages he faces. While he is a talented DE, those kind of numbers arent going to last throughtout his career.

I think the only reason Mathis gets sacks is cuz all the O-Linemen are trying to block Freeney so he just has an easier way of getting by. He's good and yes he is a sack machine but I donno if it would be a big deal if he left, it wouldn't be hard for someone else to fill in and do the same thing.

yeah true jhair, i gotta agree what you just said.I hear everybody always double dwight freeney, but if Mathis is next by him, and you have a guy that is doubling freeney, a guy like mathis obviously gonna make some big plays you know. If he left, he won't be a big loss, he will be good but not as dominated IMO.

Has anyone mentioned David Givens? The man is playing solid for the Patriots and will always be productive play for any team
