This almost single-handedly fixes their roster. Like I said yesterday, they aren't breaking up the duo
The moves that the Celtics are making are because they have a solid foundation. Tatum/Brown/Smart is very solid. When you have a team that's good enough to get to the Finals, you can go out and snag veterans and tweak your roster. We have never had that foundation since LMA left.
yes, but unless we stretch Bledsoe, we can only effectively use about 2 mil of it, so might as well just use the vet min. we also have no empty roster spots.
That's kinda irrelevant if they're going to play or not. They're taking up roster spots and salary cap.
I think the 3-guard lineup was a minor consideration compared to three bad-defense starting guards under 6'3 the team was blown up because olshey-vision + Stotts was a 7 year failure of imbalanced rosters added to bloated payrolls with little flexibility so the goal was to alter the balance and add flexibility for a new coaching system with the explicitly stated goal of getting bigger and longer....oh; wait a minute...something seems amiss!
PG- Dame, Keon, Williams (for all intents and purposes Ant is the backup) SG- Ant, Hart, Payton, Sharpe, Didi SF- Little, Brown (Hart will see a lot of minutes here, maybe even start) PF- Grant, Winslow, Watford, Walker C- Nurk, Eubanks (Watford in small ball lineups) I still think Walker will be a two way, which opens up a roster spot and gets his money off the cap.
about trading Bledsoe to Detroit: I suppose it's possible there was already an agreement in place that could happen. Detroit has the Grant TPE for 21M (unless they used it already?) Blazers could also add a 2nd and ship Bledsoe elsewhere...they have 10 days to make that deal
