It's almost like economic and political uncertainty stress people out or something.

It does give you an idea of the effectiveness of each mass shooting in each country though...

It would seem if Americans having access to worse weapons of war than other countries at such higher rates of ownership were a problem that the average number of deaths per mass shooting should be higher than any other country.

This is not conclusive, but it's certainly worth consideration...

Hmmm. Maybe he should have had his guns removed and his ID marked with a weapons restriction so anybody he tried to gain access to firearms from would know if he were dangerous.

Do an average of the last six years and get back to me. Though again it would be skewed because a great difference in population size.

And it's not taking into account all the victims. There are thousands shot who aren't killed.

Again though the above mean tells us nothing as the US has far more deaths and far more shootings....the great number of shootings just makes the average look smaller. If you looked at the actual number of deaths per shooting in each country you would see more die here in most each shooting.

Sounds like someone who needs to go to general pop and meet a boyfriend and gets raped a few times then beaten to near death. Not dead though. Close to it. Then back to gen pop and gets a new boyfriend. Over and over.

It's just a data point. Obviously it's talking about deaths rather than injuries. That's not uncommon.

And dealing with mean averages is generally considered a good way to compare events between different population sizes.

Are you suggesting violence isn't increasing all over the world, rather just here in the US?

If so, are you basing this on any data you'd be willing to share?

Would you support torturing this suspect?

But, it's not a good way to compare. If you use the right data points, you can have the numbers say whatever you want. All of the countries above the US on that list are very small in comparison. That and the timeframe chosen affect the placement greatly. The results have been diluted to suit a certain viewpoint.

I’m responding to “it’s the phones and internets fault” idea. Like they aren’t everywhere. Unless I am missing the point.

You seem ok with him being forcibly raped and beaten, just wondering if you would be ok if prison officials tortured him.

Kind of similar. I mean if you're cool with it, cool cool. I don't mind him being tortured

Sure it is, but we are seeing mass shootings weekly, multiple times a week here. We aren't seeing them at that rate elsewhere.

Oh. Yes. I am fine with any and everything. I hope he gets raped on the way in, during his stay, nightly until he dies.

    Hello,

I am not sure what your point is. Would you mind clarifying please?
    Guns are everywhere too.
Are you saying that because the internet is everywhere, its impossible for parents to keep it from their children on a more regular basis?

Correct. Again, it's a data point. We are a more violent nation than most other places.

We always have been. Our gini coefficient is far worse than those places. The places we have a better gini coefficient than have more violent crime and murder than we do.

Most other countries also don't have our population. In fact, only 2 do. So it's not surprising a more violent nation with more people would get more events more often.
