Our remodel project took way longer than expected. I would suspect it would become even more of an issue with a build proposition.

Our neighbors did an ADU build and it took almost 2 years... yikes.

Obviously it's a seller's market but if you are renting and don't own a home....that's even a bigger waste of money....the other option is lease with the option to buy but to me....land is less risky than an expensive box......to get started

Forget the house. Take the $750k and invest it all in crypto. It's on sale!

    Did I do that right?

you forgot to mention "crypto" is what you named your new pirate ship though and it's spelled "on sail"

Builders can also hold you hostage and ask for more money or cancel the contract in its entirety.

Its a soon-to-be distressed market. I'd buy, then renovate.

Yeah if your first house is a 750k house. Prepare for close to a 6k a month mortgage

Glad we did exactly that. Shittiest house in the best neighborhood we could afford.

Also, if you're building new, you have to allocate 25-30% of your budget to upgrades from the builder. So a $750k house is really a $500k house with $250k in upgrades (otherwise it will look bare bones).
