Damn man….. there are some real classics.

    Pulp Fiction
    Jackie Brown
    Inglorious Basterds.

I would watch those three. I think Django was good, Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill are good but might not be some thing you’d like. I couldn’t make it through Hateful Eight and I haven’t seen Once Upon a Time in Hollywood yet.

    Pulp Fiction is excellent though.

If Ant IS elite, he will help Dame win this team a title. This is a big year for Ant. If he continues this trajectory to special it will be seen this year. If he falls back, it's not Dame's fault, it's Anfernee's.

Do yall remember when Jaylen Brown was thrown around as a target in a Dame trade and Blazer fans said there was no way the Celtics would trade Brown so it was stupid to even think that?

    @Natebishop3 and I remember.

There might have been a post or two but no I don't recall that being a consensus.

There were at least a couple posters harping on that.

I liked Bastards as well. Totally agree on Hateful 8. Big Russell fan here, and that movie, to me, was trash. I love Western's and Tombstone was perfection. 8 was a total letdown.

I'm not sure the Celtics would do that type of trade, although I don't think its stupid to discuss, its certainly in the realm of similar valued players.

Celtics have Brogdon, White, Smart already at guard, not a huge hole that Dame would fill. Brown can slide to SF much better than any of these guys.

Plus Dame has injury history, so I would think other teams are hesitant to give up max value until they seem him perform at his prior levels.

Honestly, if @PtldPlatypus could watch just the first scene from Basterds.... the acting was amazing. Christoph Waltz absolutely killed that scene. He won an Oscar for that role. Such a great performance.

Dame is so much better than any of those guys it isn't even funny..... well... it's a little funny.

The whole reason why some of us have thought Boston might move Brown for a while now is because they need a legitimate second superstar player to win a ring. Brown is not a superstar. He's a really good All-Star. If they were able to get Durant or Dame to put with Tatum, that's a legit championship combo. None of those other guys you mentioned are even in the same stratosphere as Dame or Durant. If the rotation becomes crowded, you trade those other guys.

Wow! One injury and suddenly everyone saying he has an injury history lol. I don’t think anyone would say he is injury prone. And dame is not a wimp like his peers, he will actually play through injury like his recent injury for over 4 years. Dame is durable and the toughest guy in the league

Then you would love Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
Dirt bags, get very toasted! (literally!)
    Love Tarantino films!
Basterds, Pulp Fiction, and he was also involved in the original From Dusk Till Dawn.

I see he's listed now as an uncredited writer on "The Rock". I enjoyed that movie. And I did watch Django. So I've watched 2. But apparently I have to put a couple more on my list.

For me, it's not so much Tarantino. His scripts are good, but some of the acting that he gets out of his people is amazing.

Pulp Fiction MADE Samuel L Jackson. He was fantastic in that movie.
Christoph Waltz was just sooooo good in Basterds.
Jackie Brown was just a fun movie. It had a lot of good actors in it. It had a good tempo. The story kept me engaged. I don't think it was really gory like a lot of his films.

I enjoyed the Kill Bill movies, but they're almost like comic books brought to life. Not sure if that's something you'd enjoy.

Love Tarantino and pulp fiction is probably my favorite - there are some lines in it that are just poetic, from Samuel l Jackson, Travolta and Bruce Willis. Add a killer soundtrack and excellent performances all around and it is hard to question it.

Say what, say what again, I dare you, I double dare you

Your post reads as if Boston lost in the first round..... Boston won 14 of 16 games needed for a title, they were about as close as could be and who knows what would happen if they played a non Warriors opponent or a Warrior had an injury, etc. They are the Vegas favorites to win the 2023 title. They added Brogdon for basically nothing. Tatum and Brown might have internal improvement next season, as opposed to over 30 players like Dame or Durant declining.

I'm not saying Smart/Brogdon/White is better than Dame, I'm saying Dame may not be enough of an improvement against those quality rotational guards to make up for the cost of giving up Brown, plus picks.

The Celtics are willing to give up on Brown after getting to the Finals and 2 away from a ring. Olshey did nothing after we lost the WCF

I love the "extensive back surgery" bit. He had the most common procedure to ease lower back pain, it's called a disk bisectomy and it's anything but extensive in the world of spinal surgery. He wasn't a mentally weak competitor when he carried the team in the playoffs the year that Embiid was out. He hasn't been mentally weak. To imply that he doesn't have a good work ethic makes me feel like you've never watched the guy play defense. There's no reports of him dogging it in practice and there's plenty of video that shows him working in the off season... over his entire career.

It's cool though, the guy had a bad year, I don't know how serious his mental health issues are but he sounds very confident that he's coming back from them. One bad year and people are ready to completely write him off. And no he was not overrated he's an elite rebounder on both ends, he's an elite passer, he's a great ball handler and extremely elite for his size, he's an athletic freak and he's probably the best defender in the NBA. Not last season but before that if I had to pick one guy to get a stop against one random superstar in the league, not knowing the position, I'd pick Ben Simmons. He's also a great team defender. He won't take jump shots and gets in his head at the free throw line but that was all before he started to address his mental health. I'm not saying it's guaranteed we'll get a better Ben Simmons right when he comes back but there's a real chance. I think there is very little chance that he never plays to the level of excellence he had set for himself before last year.

Olshey's inaction was bad but when you have Tatum, I don't know if I want to do Brown plus a bunch of stuff for KD. With Tatum and Brown being so close in age and with them having just added Brogdon and Galo... I think they've made additions to their core that make them far better. I think going for broke over the next season or two with KD and then trying to figure out how to get that team around Tatum again after KD is washed would be too much change/an over reaction.
