That's a few miles from me, I know that intersection well. Gotta teriyaki spot and a sno cone place I go to there.
The headline says "YOU CAN’T HIT ME!” – “YES, I CAN MF’ER!” Beating of Armed Teen by Illinois Police Is Captured on Video" what about that is misleading?
The area is actually known as Black Beverly Hills The teriyaki spot (Du's better tho) https://blackbh.com/products/sachi-1?_pos=1&_sid=8401a8d1b&_ss=r
Me thinks our liberal Mayor is light on crime. Happy to see this, though..... https://www.newschannel5.com/news/metro-police-participate-in-national-night-out-against-crime
I honestly don't know, surely you should be able to say what is misleading about it. Is it using the term beating? Is it the direct quote they used?
Its how they capitalize the besting term insinuating the cops are doing something wrong. Its a poor portrayal playing on cop prejudices. A more accurate title to me would be: teen runs from cops and is caught with gun in bag after punched into submission. Its how one fact is bolded and another is minimized. Teen with gun should be leading the header. Not a quote trying to portray police brutality. Its a title aimed at riling up anti police folk.
yeah I'm sure it's the liberal Mayor's fault Nashville has always been crime central....not the deplorables and whack jobs ..glad the cops are having a "night out against crime"...as they don't the other 363 days a year apparently.
punching a teen after being apprehended is police brutality ....they are not trained to hit people they have accosted...glad they got the gun but they should be handcuffing this kid, not punching him. The gun was in his bag so it wasn't pointed at a cop. No cop should beat someone for running. My 2 cents.
They capitalized Armed as well. Sometimes I think we find things or notice things in a confirmation bias sort of way. Regardless, take issue with the headline if you want, but calling it misleading and borderline fake news is laughable. Maybe you could say it shows a bias, but the trotting out of "fake news" is a bad tactic when everything in the headline is factually true.
Well, last I checked, major cities in the country with the highest rates of crime are run by liberal Mayors.
he still had a gun on him when he was being hit. He wouldn't release it. That is a threat. A clear and present danger. In a bag, it can still be triggered without having to be pulled out. I would have hit him until he released it as well. Then i would handcuff him. I dont understand why it is such a bad thing for cops also wanting to eliminate threats to them. Yes, a kid with a gun in a bag refusing to let go of it is a threatening act when being arrested. They didn't shoot him, they punched him until he released the deadly weapon. Until the kid lets go of the bag, I don't think it is unfair for the cops to do what they have to to eliminate that threat for their own safety. If the kid doesn't want to get punched, let go of the deadly weapon! Pretty straight forward to me.
Fair enough. Maybe fake news is over the top. It is clear the title is aimed at provoking anti police folk to get out the pitchforks though and that's what i take issue with.
