http://www.packers.com/news/stories/2005/12/20/5/<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Already playing without their top two running backs, the Green Bay Packers have now lost Samkon Gado for the year with a knee injury.Gado tore the medial collateral ligament in his right knee, and Head Coach Mike Sherman said he will miss three to six weeks. The good news, however, is that Gado's injury does not require surgery to heal."It's just rest and rehab for him," Sherman said.Sherman did not announce a starter to replace Gado but said both rookie Noah Herron and four-year veteran Tony Fisher will receive action."As of right now, Herron and Fisher will hold down the fort," Sherman said.Herron, signed off the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad on Nov. 30, received his first NFL carry against the Baltimore Ravens, running eight times for 27 yards. Fisher, who started against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7, rushed four times for 27 yards on Monday.Gado's injury abruptly ended his storybook season. Released from the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad after this first month of the season, the undrafted rookie free agent ascended the depth chart from Packers practice squader to starting running back in less than four weeks. Along the way, he surpassed 100 rushing yards three times, including a Packers' rookie record of 171 yards in Week 14. Gado leads all rookie runners in touchdowns with six.Gado injured his knee with 1:48 left in the first quarter of Monday's game. He went down in a pile as Aubrayo Franklin and Kelly Gregg tackled him. Gado finished Monday's game with six rushes for 45 yards and the season with 143 rushes for 582 yards.Injuries have struck the Packers hard all season but especially at running back. Najeh Davenport (ankle) and Ahman Green (quadriceps tendon) are on injured reserve. Backup running backs ReShard Lee, Chaz Williams, Chris Robertson and Walt Williams suffered serious injuries as well. Without rhyme or reason, the Packers have lost their ballcarriers to injury at an alarming rate."It's kind of eerie," Sherman said.***The Rookie And The VeteranWith the Packers trailing the Ravens 34-3, Sherman replaced Brett Favre with Aaron Rodgers at the end of third quarter. The consummate professional, Favre had no problem with the move, which gave the Packers a chance to evaluate Rodgers during his most extended action of the regular season."He understood it," Sherman said. "We got a chance to look at the young quarterback."Sherman clearly indicated that Favre will remain the starter, but he has not declared if Rodgers will continue to receive snaps if the Packers go way up or fall way behind in a game."(We) take each situation as it comes up," Sherman said.Rodgers completed eight-of-15 passes for 65 yards and an interception on Monday.</div>

Poor Gado... [IMG] He looked so good too. Who knows if he will ever get a starting role again or maybe never even get another NFL handoff, I hear he wants to get into Med. School...

[IMG] [IMG] </div> You're just mad because in the time he's been under center, your sorry team has had to field prolly 15+ qbs. I can't wait for the air to leave your balloon. When you come back to earth, I'll be here to remind you of how your team is a pretender. [IMG]

Once Brett Favre retires, which IMO will be after this year, we will OWN your sucky team for a really long time. We've got the entire defense signed thru 2006, and many parts well beyond. We also have a lot of $$$. Look out. The Packers dominance of the Bears is OVER!!!!!! I just hope the Pack win their last regular season game so they can't draft Reggie Bush.

I hope he does come back, and even if Reggie is on the board when we pick, I don't see us taking him. You hope Favre retires...You hope we don't draft Reggie. Seems like someone has issues. Sounds like someone don't have enough faith in their own team. Of course, if I were a bears fan, I'd be pessismitic too. All those years of sucking. It's gotta take a toll on you.As for you $$$$$$. LMAO. Good for you. We'll get some high picks and we'll have close to $30 mil in cap space. Looks like we could be back in the hunt next year which would almost make this year worth the demise. You should have asked for a REAL qb for Xmas. God knows you haven't had one since Jim McMahon.

At least our players don't whack others 20 seconds after the whistle blows w/ the intent to end their season, the way that guy who died this January did to McMahon in 1986. And he's got a son who should've ruined Green Bay's Thanksgiving in 2001, if he had used his brain.

My god, get a tissue and a life.Besides, I loved that body slam. Funny stuff. But you're a funny one. Were you even alive when that happened? I didn't think so. Where is the crying smiley? This boy needs a ton of them.

I've already done it to him in my Madden NFL 2003 game.Injury: Completly destroyed kneeLength: Career is over

Funny. You don't have any Playoff pics that you could throw in my face involving the Bears. Last time they were in the Playoffs, the Eagles bounced them out...IN SOLDIER FIELD. At least Minny is some real competition on a perrenial basis. You guys...not so much. But hey, I bet you're an awesome cheerleader.

Catch up. You think that hurt our feelings? We do it to opposing teams when they leave the games. I can tell you are a Cubs fan....and a Bears fan...and a cheerleader. You are dense.
