Coach Curry is down in Brazil right now as the head coach of the Virgin Islands team in the AmeriCup. Wishing her the best.

I’m thinking something specific happened. She fucked up somehow. Did or said something.

Optics doesn't matter if she was not providing sufficient value.

Billups has final say on his coaching staff. This isn't a fuck up by the front office. No idea why they've parted ways but this isn't an optics thing.

She probably doesn't want to be an assistant when she can be a head coach even if it's not an NBA head coach yet. She's busy...she coached at the combine...she has a bright future...I don't look at this like she got fired...I look at it like she has bigger fish to fry. Probably better money as well. Assistant coaches take jobs and leave staffs all the time. Every one of them wants to be a head coach.

Why is this a big deal? This stuff happens all the time who cares. It’s just because she’s a woman this becomes a conspiracy

    yep

several assistant coaches are let go every off season, and no reasons are given. Why are the "optics" different in this case? Gender shouldn't matter

Damn, I thought since we were discussing the Cavs that it was Darius Garland.

The goal is to create a contender. As you said, he did that twice. Cleveland hasn't won a playoff series since LeBron left. Minnesota hasn't won a playoff series since KG left (done by Ainge). The current rosters in Cleveland and Minnesota are promising but they are hardly contenders at this point. They're certainly not better than Boston, the odds-on favorite to win the title next year. Thanks to Ainge.

he got the critical assist from Kevin McHale for his 1st championship. And, a critical assist from Billy King (and a new, stupid, Russian owner) for the current Celtics team. Billy King was the same Billy King who essentially traded Lillard for Wallace

and the current Celtics team was built by trading Garnett and Pierce for a #1 (traded down) + #3 +#17 picks. I don't see any picks like those coming from the Gobert/Mitchell trades; not even close. Ainge isn't done, obviously. Pretty clear his goal is for the Jazz to be a bottom feeder. That's how he hopes to acquire those top-5 draft picks

How do you know she was?
Were you there in the staff meetings?
Providing sufficient 'value' can be subjective.

This is the guy that I want on our second two way. He's big, he moves well on both ends and he can hit an open three.

Apparently he isn't good enough to get a roster spot with OKC? Practice body at best.

Since OKC was tanking they had to cut him because he was doing too well.
