Decent card. Really hate what the UFC is doing to Nate here...

Chimaev just missed weight by 7.5 pounds. Not only that, dude smiled about it on the scale. Diaz should put this on the UFC and refuse to fight the guy.

This happened after Chimaev decided to ruin yesterday's press event.

I love the Chimaev villain arc.

So apparently Khamzat was told by UFC Doctor's to stop cutting weight last night. His body started cramping up on him, long story short he's too big for 170. Its time to make 185 permanent. I suspect Dana will give him one more shot at making 170 in the future, though. So the UFC has had this in the works for at least 24 hours or so now with forward notice. I actually love the card even more now, all fights are more balanced. Nate was a sacrificial lamb and it was absolutely tasteless for the UFC to put him in their with Khamzat.

Dustin was offered the fight and then put on stand by. He was ready to fly into Vegas today and weigh in tonight if the commission allowed it. I really wish they did.

Either way, I love the new fight. Nate has a very winnable fight now. Two legends of the game on the end of their careers get to face off. Khamzat gets to fight Holland. Khamzat will destroy him with wrestling but if he tries to stand, he can be beaten. I'm sure every fighter except Khamzat who had fights changed got very well compensated. Nate had the UFC by the balls. He could have rejected another fight and sine he made weight, his contract would have been fulfilled. I'm sure Dana gave him a suitcase full of money for this.

I like Khamzat, he's got a choice to make though. He's young and immature. I didn't like the smiling on the scale and the flipping the cameras off after he missed weight. I'm sure the pressure of it and embarrassment of it all fucked with him but I think he needs a humbling. I actually kind of want him to lose for that reason. He's got so much talent but seems to be going more the way of Conor, he's surrounding himself with yes men. He needs to fix that or his career will be a waste. He has potential to be a legit contender for years with his skillset. I would love to see him get serious with a name brand gym like AKA, or Alliance MMA, or Trevor Whitman. Hopefully Dana gets in that ass tonight and reality checks him.

I am glad they were able to work out a new fight for Nate. I was concerned they would not have him fight and keep dragging him along on contract.

I'm sure it's been written about but when was the last time there were so many out-of-weight-class fights? Original UFC's?

I'm glad Nate's able to go on his own terms. The UFC tried to prevent this outcome and failed.

I assume they still own McGregor, meaning if the two do a boxing rubber match, the UFC will get a ludicrous cut? If so they are better off waiting until McGregor is also a free man.
