That's what I thought we'd do when Didi got waived....good move. Solid roster with insurance now.

Not sure how good Saar or Pelle are but we do have room for both right? One as a 2-way and one as a roster spot? Regardless
at least they have a couple of options to choose from for the 3rd center. Hopefully, one of them can be developed. And if any other big is cut from another team that is better.....grab that guy instead.

Edit: oops I now see they waived Pelle

I don't think we're looking to fill that roster spot. It's not mandatory to have that many players on the roster and any salary... even the rookie min will put us into the lux tax and unfortunately that seems to be a top priority for this organization. So I just want us to sign Sarr to that second two way spot and that will give us some insurance as far as size goes.

Having a young BIG who can move a bit and has possible skills to get the 2-way contract?

I did like Duren as a draft prospect. A possible Robert Williams type of big with springs, length and D. In contrast, Nurkic is that step and a half down from the elite bigs in the NBA but does have a number of skills. I prefer the athletic center whose motor is switched to ON with so few elite bigs.

Sarr? My initial impression is he looks like a guy who could carve out a career maybe getting the taxpayer MLE as it is (not when the next CBA bump hits). A persistent assistant coach and hard-nosed players off the bench will be needed in his development of grit and skills. That’s my guess. Maybe a Brook Lopez type of player … years from now?

He's not going to be needed on offense...rebound and block shots...that's what a third string big will give you hopefully.

That is probably true to some degree for all centers these days. However, I kind of view a 3rd string center the same way I view a 2nd team center since he won't play unless there is an injury. And having a 2nd string center with the ability to hit an open set shot
could come in handy if we have a lineup with Payton and Winslow. (Both of which I like btw)

Good thing is he's 7' and 240 lbs...went to Wake Forest then Kentucky. looks like he's only 23 years old. Building for the future if he pans out. I like this pickup much better than Didi waiving a towel

I hope he does a good job of rebounding and passing the ball to Dame during training camp.

Looks like we waived Norvelle Pelle because of this...

Yup..just read we waived him....he's 30 years old and we found a 23 year old looks like to fit the timeline of Sharpe and Nas and Ant.

Had to google what and Exhibit 10 contract was. WOW am I excited for this signing.

Imo, with Nurk playing for Bosnia right now, he should be spending most of training camp learning sets, going through drills, shooting 3s, maybe 10mpg in the preseason. That should mean PLENTY of time to see if Sarr has a chance of panning out.

It will be interesting to see if Cleveland and Minni can force the league to trend toward a 2 big lineup again.

If he is on a 2-way, he may prove to be a huge signing just by virtue of being the only guy at his size outside of Nurkic. Hits a few 3s in a string of games, and I fully expect them to convert it to a full deal. At 23 and plenty mobile, Chauncey can still mold him into being a serviceable rim protector.

Let’s see what he brings. I don’t expect him to be a starter, but I remember when randos like Mo Speights and Aron Baynes would be killing us off the bench. It’d be nice to have one of those on the team.

Again some will call this cheap but I call it smart. If he doesn’t pan out they don’t go over the tax. Leaves them able to make that decision at a later date.

Well, I definitely like that he is working on that fade away. I am sure some will say he starts out too low, but I doubt many will block it. He has skills for sure. He could be a good prospect. My guess is he will put on another 10 lbs of muscle over time. I think he needs it.
