The amount of people on social media yesterday saying turning the power off was a means of more government control sure look like fucking morons this morning with all this smoke.
It clears a bit once you get past Battleground. The weirdest part is that a majority of the smoke is coming from the west instead of the east like I'm used to.
Here by the Bay temperature way down. Lucia much livelier. Auto correct changed to lovelier. Also true.
My daughter had an asthma attack this morning. Hadn't used her inhaler since the last time it was this smokey.
We were staying at Black Butte Ranch when that happened in 2020 and originally planned to stay until Monday but was keeping up on the weather back home where we were going to get crazy winds in Portland-metro and decided to pack up Sunday. Drove through Detroit, Mill City and it was kind of eerie because of all the fires but people were still doing their thing. Came home and was glued to the news because of the unusual weather and watching about how those towns were completely burned down. We passed thru less than 24 hours before and glad we made the decision we did. Growing up I never remember this haze and bad air quality in Portland even though I always remember a lot of fires throughout the region.
The beginning of Cops they used to say “134th and Bush we got them at gun point. Coverage code 3”. Years later I bid my first route and delivered that area and it totally made sense.
