4 yrs/$28m is a fantastic get. Considering OG got 4 yrs/$72m after averaging 11/5/2 (he’s was healthier his first three years, I get it), getting Nas for almost 1/3 of that deal is pretty much as good as you can get.
So refreshing to see the Blazers not over paid on an extension for once. Remember we gave out 4 yr/ 40 mil to each of Mo Harkless and Meyers Leonard? That was 2016, 6 years ago. This is how it should work. Nas gets lift changing guaranty money. The team is taking on minimum risk. win/win. Great job on the GM.
Nas is like an older Russell Westbrook. No handles, can’t shoot the 3’s, out of control and try to bully himself towards the rim.

You just compared a freak athlete 22 year old injury prone wing role player, that has made this money through effort and things beyond the boxscore to a pretty durable 33 year old PG MVP who is one of the two biggest empty stat stuffers in the history of the game (Harden being the other). https://www.nba.com/stats/draft/combine-strength-agility So his lane agility is subpar but his leaping ability and speed tests are elite for a guy with his size and I've never seen a problem with his lateral quickness, in fact it looks elite in game so I'd chalk the combine score up to a lack of skill in that drill instead of what the drill is supposed to measure.
I think this is a great deal for all involved, but especially for the team if Nas can stay healthy and reach even some of his potential. He has got to work on his handle and especially his 3-ball. There is a very real chance this will be one of the best Wing contracts in the league after the next deal. A very solid and fair contract for both parties, but let's be real it's a great signing for the team! It's also a great salary size for a trade.
Nobody did a great job. Bro has been TOO injured to have any value to any other teams around the league. Great contract for us I guess, but he wasn’t going to get that offer from anybody else.
You really thought you were onto something with this comp LOL. For the record though, this current Westbrook at $7m/yr is by no means unmovable. There are teams that would want him at $7m/yr.
This was a good deal for the Blazers cause even if Little does not get any better he is still moveable in a trade cause some team will want to take a chance on potential even if it's waning. Teams need tradable contracts. Little has upside -- and until the preseason revealed he's not yet back to form from injury and surgery, Little was being touted as the likely starting SF [not by everyone ... just around half]. Now, he's locked in for this and four more years in a contract that is easily paired with others to make a bigger trade. Hart's player option contract makes him the most likely traded by the deadline, but when Little can be traded, add him to the list. If he pans out as a stud 6th man, then they got him on the cheap. Very PJ Tucker. If he actually becomes a starting SF, then he's like the woefully underpaid Sam Cassell (PG) and early Scottie Pippen. [Okay, not to their quality but a starter making less than MLE money is practically theft]. Little is covered in case of ongoing injuries while the Blazers just got a really good contract signed. Locking in Nurkic's 4 year contract was iffy at best. Nas? Great job!
I think Chief and Ed Davis each signed with us for 8 million a year back in the day....for Nas at 22...it's understandable he got the deal he got..it's based on "potential" ..Ed and Chief were vets for similar money. He's easier to trade this way if he doesn't pan out and you don't have to bring back a ton of salary to move him if that's the idea down the road.
For those who are out on him strictly because of injuries and not ability, think about it this way: All we pretty much did was re-up on his rookie contract. Sharpe will only be making around $1m less than Nas for the entirety of his rookie deal. Others have mentioned the AFA and EdD contracts being around the same price or more. This was a no-brainer deal for sure.
