GP Jr and Watford are gonna need minutes, we seem pretty deep, consolidation trade coming in a few months?

So highlights. Josh Hart MVP with just unreal concentration and near-flawless play. Jerami Grant very solid and versatile a great pickup. Winslow did good work in limited minutes. Simons turned it on when we needed it and Sharpe was a massive spark off the bench and has GOT to get more minutes.

Concerns I have are Nurk being softer than warm butter and frankly needing to be traded ASAP. Why didn't we sign that one center we had in Pre-Season?!?!? Also, I'm just a wee bit concerned about Dame. Not his shooting, but his first step was just not there. Anyone else see that? I love Dame and I expect he will be fine, but that did worry me just a skosh.

    Saying this for years
We didn't play smart and our big guns didn't really step up, but you've got to take the win on the road against what looks to be the best team the Kings have trotted out in years.

Grant, Justice and Hart really stepped up on both ends. They frustrated Sabonis at one end and fouled him out on the other. I thought it was fascinating and I was happy to see Nurk didn't get a sniff of the court when we pulled it out.

For one game, Grant looks like what Dame and the Blazers thought they were getting when they pursued him. He didn't try to play like he was a No. 1 option, but, when the opportunities were there, he PERFORMED like a No. 1 option, getting good shots or getting to the line and doing it in the framework of the offense.

It seems like the Blazers were the steadier team during the stretch run.

The good news is we won, the bad news is that we struggled to do so against the Kings. That is a bad sign for what's to come over the next 9 games in which we have to play the Suns three times, the Heat twice, the Nuggets and the Grizz.

I think it's reasonable to expect that Dame and Ant will score more efficiently going forward but I also think it's reasonable for us to expect to struggle against good teams with how we're playing right now. It is just one game though and it was a win and we'll have to take it one game at a time for now. Go Blazers!!!

Watched the whole game from my flight. United came thru.

Good win but we have to get Dame some easier looks. SAC is shockingly competent at guarding him but that was not pretty.

what exactly is your anti-blazer issue? You're shitting on them all the time

Grant scored 23 points on 11 shots; he had 8 rebounds, 2 steals, played great defense, and came thru in the clutch. He played extremely well. Portland doesn't win this game without Grant and Hart. Trading CJ for those two was a great trade for Portland

I agree that Hart should be getting praise but he put us in a lot of bad possessions throughout the game by being the guy who pounded the rock more than anyone else on our squad. If he can edit out the over dribbling he'll be even better.

Winslow should just be the permanent backup center. He was able to guard Sabonis 1:1.

Jeez, Fox and Huerter can shoot. Hart is just plain smart out there. Worried about Nurk and Nas. The latter is a particularly tradable contract.

    Did you
Did you watch the fucking game? Lillard jacking up shots like he’s actually shooting efficiently. The old hero ball like he used to play with his boy Stotts. He literally turned the ball over on three straight possessions down the stretch. Ant had ZERO turnovers and just seemed to have a much better handle on how to initiate the offence. He may not have accrued the same number of assists as Lillard but that’s because I bet he got more hockey assists.
