He is not the best player on the team yet, but he has a chance to be in a couple of years. As long as he gets 12-15 minutes a game at the start of the season, that's enough.
In the minutes he played last night, he was arguably the best player on our team. It was just one night, and just 16 minutes against mainly the second unit, but what an outstanding performance. Batum and Vonleh each started for us the whole year when they were just 20, and neither were nearly as good as Sharpe appears to be. I'm not saying we should go that route, but it's not inconceivable that he wins the starting job at some point in the coming months. If/when we hit a rough patch of losses, you can see how the easiest way for Billups to shake things up is to move Hart to the bench to run the second unit.
Yeah, he played really well. I don't want to take anything away from what he did. But is there an easier way to shake things up if we go on a 5 game skid? I suppose there's also the option to bench Nurk. But if we're losing a lot, it's probably because Dame isn't playing well, and benching our best screener isn't going to help with that.
I think you continue to get him 12-15 mins a game until there are the inevitable injuries. Sharp needs reps for sure but there is also a process "Next man up" that needs to take place.
I liked most how he played defense. Moved his feet a lot and kept his hands down and body in front when he needed to.
"Sharpe looks washed. His prime was 5 days ago. Just doesn't look like he has ANY burst left. I hope I'm wrong, but it's not looking good."
At least rookie Wall had his whole career ahead of him. Wall also finished 2nd in RoY voting. Sharpe is already exiting his prime. Should I start using green font?
