Nonsense. It looks like a rock. I'll bet it is really just a piece of styrofoam that Martians carved to look like a rock. Nothing to see here. barfo
Our dog and cat were something like this. The 150 lb. German would take turns with the cat licking the fur of the kittens. Also, every dog in Oswego knew not to mess with the cat because there was never a dog that would dare mess with our dog so messing with our cat was the kiss of death.
Oh no! Outrage! Fox "news" is OUTRAGED because some study showed cats on college campuses are good for students. Said "those kids" don't need cats, they need discipline! Slap them! Why am I not surprised right wing mouthpieces hate cats? Intelligent, independent, dignified, mannerly. No color prejudice. Something very wrong with them. And they are very good at disciplining their humans.
Heard Lucia talking loudly to people across the street. I went to investigate. The woman said she visits regularly and that she gave Lucia a few treats. A few? She had a whole saucer full. Lucia is very good at the feline game of acting like this a famine victim. She is really very well fed. Cadging treats from neighbors.
Took Lucia in for her shots. Still using same v.e.t. since we moved, a much longer drive and on surface streets only, as she can't be seat belted. Got to hear her entire repertoire of shrieks and howls en route. Not a peep on the trip home. She knew she was going home.
Had to put our 17 year old black cat "Trouble El Gato" to sleep last night (on Friday the 13th). My first pet ever (via Marriage). He was recently diagnosed with large cell lymphoma and when we got home he was slouched on the ground, struggling to breathe. He's had heart issues the last 2 years, we're lucky we got some more time with him after his episodes with that.
His name was Trouble, I added the El Gato when he moved in. Found this patch in Austin, turned it into a hat.
Speaking for myself and all the other resident "cat people"...we know these observations to be true; I believe cats to be spirits come to earth. A cat, I am sure, could walk on a cloud without coming through. — Jules Verne There are no ordinary cats. — Colette The cat is above all things, a dramatist. — Margaret Benson, author and Egyptologist What greater gift than the love of a cat? — Charles Dickens If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat. — Mark Twain I love cats because I enjoy my home; and little by little, they become its visible soul. — Jean Cocteau If you want to be a psychological novelist and write about human beings, the best thing you can do is to keep a pair of cats. — Aldous Huxley A cat has absolute emotional honesty. Human beings, for one reason or another, may hide their feelings, but a cat does not. — Ernest Hemingway Anyone who considers protocol unimportant has never dealt with a cat. — Robert A. Heinlein The cat does not offer services. The cat offers itself. Of course he wants care and shelter. You don’t buy love for nothing. Like all pure creatures, cats are practical. — William S. Burroughs If you’re feeling bad, you just look at the cats, you’ll feel better, because they know that everything is, just as it is. There’s nothing to get excited about. They just know. They’re saviors. — Charles Bukowski Cats know exactly where they begin and end. When they walk slowly out the door that you are holding open for them, and pause, leaving their tail just an inch or two inside the door, they know it. They know you have to keep holding the door open. — Ursula K. Le Guin In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods. They have not forgotten this. — Terry Pratchett I have lived with several Zen masters — all of them cats. — Eckhart Tolle I've met many irresponsible people in my life but never an irresponsible cat. — Rita Mae Brown, author Way down deep, we’re all motivated by the same urges. Cats have the courage to live by them. — Jim Davis, creator of "Garfield" Owners of dogs will have noticed that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they will think you are God. Whereas owners of cats are compelled to realize that, if you provide them with food and water and affection, they draw the conclusion that they are God. — Christopher Hitchens You can train cats to do anything they want to. — Ricky Gervais
