Some tremendous contributions from rookies in their opening auditions into the league.

    Banchero
    Smith
    Ivey & Duren
    Mathurin
    Sharpe
    Kessler

....those 7 averaged 17.1 ppg and outside of Jabari Smith, all shot quite well.

There is only one rook worthy of my attention span and he is in the picture you posted. All the others are just gonna be runner ups to the roty!

( is it runner ups or runners up?)

Even though Payton was out and Little is ramping up, it was surprising and more than interesting that Billups played Sharpe for an extended run in the 1st half. How much and how consistently will Sharpe play in the first 20 games? The Blazers did say he’s ready to play.

Banchero is going to get a ton of touches and shots for ORL. It is likely his to win unless he gets injured.

    Agreed.

Keegan Murray has a shot at it though. He's a baller.

But...but...I have it on good authority from some of the posters here that the draft is just a crap-shoot, that no rookie is worthy of being a key part of a rebuild, etc.

Seriously, I will never forgive Olshey for wasting draft picks in trades for low-impact vets. Just imagine: we don't spend 2 picks for Collins, 2 picks for RoCo, and a pick for Nance. While we are at it, keep Trent instead of trading for Powell. Instead of the current debate about tanking vs treading quicksand, the rebuild could already be in place with Dame (hopefully) still having 1 or 2 good years left.

Yes, there are no guarantees in life. Yes, you need the FO to be competent at their job. We all know the caveats. OTOH, the next time you feel like denigrating the value of draft picks, remember that you are parroting Olshey - then punch yourself in the face until sanity returns! :comppunch:

You could call them run uppers or up runners and people will know what you mean.

It’s runners up. The runner is the changing variable, in this case there are multiple which would make them Runners up.

    That’s my argument for it…

Sorry “ Run Uppers” is something completely different. Trust me on this. No need to look it up especially if you are at work.
