As an aside, I remember when Clyde was married to Gaynell, and they lived in Dunthorpe. Whenever I drove to Portland, I'd sometimes take a side route from Lake O. thru Dunthorpe...hoping to catch him coming out of his driveway or such! LOL Silly me.

Walton is my all time favorite. I put Lillard tied with Brandon Roy for no. 2.

    Thru Dunthorpe or Terwilliger?
I used to know people who lived in Dunthorpe/Riverdale.

Do You think you could've loved Moses Malone??

    https://www.nbcsports.com/northwest...one-central-figure-worst-trade-blazer-history

Yes, the Trail Blazers are the team that passed up Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Kevin Durant in the draft. Portland selected Malone, still just 21 after two seasons in the ABA, as the fifth pick in the ABA dispersal draft in 1976. He came to training camp in the fall of 1976 as a part of the group that would stun the basketball world by winning the NBA championship that season. Bill Walton was the starting center for that squad of course, but he'd been bothered by injuries and it was obvious he'd need a quality backup. But it was just as obvious nobody knew Walton would have just another half-season of high-quality basketball left after that season because of those injuries.

Malone played the 1976 exhibition season with the Trail Blazers and there are many stories about why the team ended up trading him before the start of the regular season. And nobody in these parts got too upset at that time with the team for letting Malone go. After all, the Trail Blazers went on to win their one and only championship that season. The triumph erased a lot of short-term memories. But why, why, why EVER let go of a young player with Malone's obvious gifts?

Here's what Blazer Head Coach Jack Ramsay in his 1978 autobiography The Coach's Art wrote about Malone: "The Blazer front office had it made it clear to me from the beginning that the combination of Malone's $350,000 purchase price and his high-salary contract would make it impossible for the Blazers to keep him... After I saw what he could do in the exhibition season, I really wanted Malone to stay with us. It was unfortunate that we just couldn't afford to keep him."

Well, you could get to Dunthorpe via Terwilliger but in those scenarios, I always went to Dunthorpe via Riverdale Rd.

You do know what "away" means in the context of "points away from", right?

    And "current pace" means?

Or saying that it's not reasonable to expect him to maintain his current average?

reverse jinxing, or "reverse woofing", is worse than the original jinx.

With his 26 points against Charlotte last night, Lillard has now passed Magic Johnson and moved into#83 all-time NBA Career Scoring list.

There are a lot of notable names coming up that he should be passing in his next few games. Let's hope for a healthy Lillard!

Am I a bad NBA fan for not knowing who the heck Bailey Howell is?

I had to look him up too! You know when his picture online is black and white, he played in a different era. Bailey Howell’s rookie year was 1959-60. Yeah, I wasn’t following basketball at that time.
