I do not see that as anymore of a possibility than grooming what we have now. But lbj severely crimps our future. Ant/Sharpe/Dame could be lethal in a couple years. Shiiit. By end of the season even!
Raises hand. A trade like this means you have a chance to win a title in the next couple of seasons, followed by a painful rebuild. You are better off in the short-term, while being at least marginally worse off in the long-term. There is no guarantee you win a title, but there is also no guarantee Simons and Sharpe become the kind of stars that could lead to success down the road. If you really have absolute faith in Simons&Sharpe becoming that great, then you would trade Dame and build around them. OTOH, if the calculated risk pays off - that banner hangs in the rafter as long as the team exists.
If this were LeBron from 3 years ago, immediately yes. But LeBron has missed significant time due to injury the past 2 seasons. No matter how much he invests in his body, Father Time will always win. For this reason only, I say no.
Yup. Plus absolutely ZERO point to bringing him here if he doesn’t want to be here. If he wanted to be out of LA, he wouldn’t have extended for two more years.
May i ask what possibility lacks in keeping them vs trading for a Lebron? If you KNOW their ceiling then that is one thing. But then you would have to also KNOW LBJ will remain healthy and dominate. I don't see that as any higher of a chance than our core growing and contending.
Thats what i said too. But then I told myself im not so sure. Now im just arguing with myself about how crazy i am. Thats not crazy is it?
Simons & Sharpe Ralph Lawler Law firm “It’s the law!” Edit: Dude only missed 3 games in his 40 year career. I know some people weren’t Lawler fans, but he was probably my favorite non-MB/MR announcer.
All this talk of "titles" "championships"...I get it. It is the ultimate goal. But, as Ralph Waldo Emerson once said: "Life is a journey, not a destination." Four games in, I'm havin' a blast with this team, and I am not alone. Ol' Ralph was on to something. Trading Anfernee and Shaedon for LBJ, cheapens (ruins?) the journey, for me, anyway.
