This is a great argument for improving our education system and social safety net. We have far too many desperate people and ignorant assholes, and education is the solution.
I learned respect from my schools, my church and from my parents. Not to mention cub scouts, boy scouts and the army. It takes a village to raise a child.
Until Parents start teaching their kids respect and showing respect, nothing the schools do will matter. Starts with the parents.
