Curry is 2 years and 3 months older and has played 6000 more minutes in 200 more games. Curry has also endured more injuries than Dame. That's more than enough separation of circumstance to say they aren't in rule/exception range
If you watched the game, anyone can see that Sharpe is right now and always will be a better defender than Simons and Lillard. He might already be nearly as good or just as good, or even better on average than they are on offense.
This young man has far exceeded my expectations for this year! Has played unbelievablly well and within himself so far, and this is a kid who basically did not play last year. His D has been surprisingly solid as well, what a great draft pick and player to look forward to watch develop the next several years!
I kinda wonder how Sharpe would react/play if made the starter for the next game (or if Dame is out for a few games). They should probably start him at SF, and have Hart be the SG.
One thing I don't think we've seen with Sharpe is him blindly attacking the hoop and getting rejected or missing badly like you would expect from an inexperienced rookie (or some of our own players). Instead he's more likely to fake someone out of their shoes and convert the basket.
Every time I read someone saying either this or talking about how smoothly he moves, I always think of the idiom "slow is smooth, and smooth is fast". I feel like he's the living embodiment of that saying.
They should start Sharpe at SF and Hart at SG. At a minimum Sharpe should be getting 25-35 minutes while Dame is out, but I say throw him into the fire, starting with Houston. This could be a blessing in disguise assuming Dame makes a full and complete recovery (he WILL!). Accelerating Sharpe’s development will be huge for this team. Watch for his first 20+ game against Houston.
