Sharpe is not a bench player. He's a starting 2-guard or 3. Every game he does something (or two) that's ridiculous.

In the game against Miami, after Simons bricked a 3-pointer, Sharpe went way up into the sky to grab the rebound, way above Josh Hart knocking Hart to the ground, landing near the 3-point line.
What does he do? Look around like a deer in headlights? Nope. He calmly starts his dribble, splitting two defenders. But there is a defender waiting for him right under the hoop. So what?
Sharpe elevates between the trailing defender and the one under the hoop and lays it in gently, like he's playing ball in his backyard. Like it's NOTHING.
Go to the 0:40 mark of this video for that one. Feel free to also watch his steal / coast-to-coast layup 3-point play, and the side-step 3-pointer that also looked like it was nothing to him.

Sharpe is the real deal. You can see a little bit of the rookie stuff on defense, like the time Butler caught him looking away and drove past him last night. He also needs to work on his handle - once his handle is tighter - he is going to be a Problem with a capital 'P'.

Otherwise, super impressed with him. He does a bit of the BRoy change of pace in a straight line to get players surprised and get fouls, he is not afraid to get into the defender's body and his awareness of the defenders to avoid them and do a simple one step adjustment for a clean look - is veteran like. Very, very impressive.

So you are saying every game off the bench he is doing something that is ridiculously good, yet he is not a bench player? Seems to me he is a pretty good bench player. So why rush him into the starting unit? It has only been 5 games. As long as he is getting minutes each game...... he will develop.

He's not a bench player because he's better than some of our starters.
Do you also want to see how effective Lillard is coming off the bench?

How many games did you predict the Blazers would win to start the season?

So you are one of those that think us, Utah, San Antonio are going to finish ahead of the Nuggets and Warriors too?

Yeah, let's compare a 10-year vet who played 4 years of college to a 19-year-old who has played 5 games since high school.
He will eventually start, just not sure why you are so obsessed with him starting right away. I agree he needs the minutes, and he will get more in the next couple of games.

He could play against Houston and be fine. This will be a glorified summer league game anyway with the team they roll out. But I am just fine with him coming off the bench. Give this kid some time to adjust to the league right?

Does Sharpe look like he needs time to adjust? (No.) The dude looks like a rebounding machine. Sharpe had 8 rebounds in 21 minutes. Showing his effort along with his skill.

Simons had 0 assists, edit: 3 turnovers, and 4 personal fouls. That's a Trail Blazer that looks like he needs some time to adjust.

Normally, I would completely agree with this line of thinking. However, Sharpe seems to have shown in these first few games that he's already pretty well-adjusted to the league, even despite his lack of experience. In all reality, giving him a chance to start a game--against a presumably tanking team like the Rockets--would probably be a great thing for his development. Perhaps he continues to impress, or maybe he gets a rude awakening. Either way, we--and he--learn a lot.

If there is a team to throw him out against it would be the Rockets. I agree with you there.

I won’t be surprised if Denver finishes 4th in the NW Division. Division is tough this year. Minnesota improved a lot since they drafted Anthony Edwards. Even without this off-season they were on their way up. Utah didn’t do so horribly in the off-season even though they lost Gobert and Mitchell. Lauri Markannen is legit.

I think it will be Keon, just so the rotation stays the same.
