Jerry Lee Lewis died at 87 years of age.....one of the few stars to be in the rock and roll hall of fame and the country music hall of fame....a wild man who married his cousin and was cousins with Mickey Gilley and the televangelist Jimmy Swaggert.....Great balls of fire! Whole lotta shakin' goin' on...RIP to the legend! Keith Richards found him playing piano and living in a bowling alley in Florida and reinvented his career with a great duet album that I have today....when the man sings you feel it. He had 7 wives and rumor is he killed one which is where his nickname came from. He was never found guilty of that no matter what...he was always a wild man.
Yeah, but wasn't she his cousin? I mean... she's his cousin... He can do what he wants with her, right?
I thought I saw 22 in an article. Either way it's not a good look. If I had a 13 year old daughter I would beat a 17 year old ass if he came snooping around
His first marriage he was 17...must not have been his cousin that time....safe to say that Jerry Lee was looked at as the devil most of this career for his wild ways and ideas on marriage....Johnny Cash once said that the Rolling Stones had nothing on the Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Roy Orbison and Little Richard tours of the deep south back in the 50s...those were some crazy dudes
Always amazes me that Lewis' career was basically destroyed by that, whereas no one really batted an eye at Elvis' romance with 14-year-old Priscilla.
Who should play him in the movie they'll probably make? I think Ed Norton would be great or Joaquin Phoenix.
R.I.P. This is a pretty enlightening article. Jam-packed with insights on the colorful (to say the least) guy. Actually, it claims JLL was dubbed "killer" by a schoolmate https://www.vulture.com/2022/10/jerry-lee-lewis-obituary-1935-2022.html Jerry Lee Lewis was known as the Killer, and it wasn’t a casual sobriquet — a schoolmate called him that after he tried to strangle a teacher. He once shot his bass player in the chest; just about all of his seven wives, including one who was a child, said he beat them; and there’s a lingering suspicion that he murdered wife No. 5. He was the very model of a high-functioning sociopath and somehow defied hard living, drug and alcohol abuse, and serious health problems to make it well into his ninth decade......
