For sure. Goes without saying. I’m just saying if there’s any sort of regret at this point, then you know you done fucked up. Sometimes players take a bit of time to be real contributors and then blow up. So you feel like you rolled a legit pair of dice, and the regret is lessened. If I were in their GM’s shoes, I’d already have regret. And that’s not a good thing, long-term.

There’s the win-now cost if you think you have a chance versus waiting for a player to develop. You don’t always take a gamble waiting on a guy who might be a star but will take a few years if you think you can win-now (if their GM thinks they’re winning now, he’s dumber than I thought).

Thought of that earlier and was waiting for someone to suggest it. It was going to be me.

We could just refer to him as “North”. One, cuz he gets up. And two, it’s an homage to Toronto and Portland (since they say “we the North” but Portland actually is North of Toronto).

At this point, while it's not the worst thing to happen when you "gamble" in the draft (which is what we did with a then mostly unknown player, not so much anymore), peaking at OG level would be underwhelming.

I still think Keegan will turn out to be a solid player, and I know he is much older which is why I wanted him as he is more NBA ready, closer to Dame's timeline, but Sharpe very early has shown he is no ordinary teenager, who amazingly only took hoops seriously a couple years ago.

Too bad Kobe isn’t still here, he would’ve anointed Sharpe as Maple Mamba for sure.

Maybe he could be like Shorsey.....but Sharpie.

And if he can respond to every question he asks with a "huh?" right as the person starts to answer....

    "True North" or "Truth North"

The first being accurate regarding Portland's latitude north of Toronto. The second is word play.

The new, spectacular highlight for me in the Houston game wasn't his rim-ripping dunks, but his side-stepping slightly fading mid-range jumper he hit with 2:12 left in the third quarter.
That looks like a shot the defense will always give up to Sharpe because he'll blow by a defender who closes out too hard. You could also commit a foul closing out to hard.
Go to the 1:20 mark in this video to re-watch Keon Johnson throw up the ball to Shaedon. Right after than is the highlight I'm referring to.
If Sharpe can hit a high-percentage of mid-range shots he'll very hard to defend. And while you do get more points for a 3-pointer, if a game is tied or you're down by 1 point with 10 seconds in the game, you want to take the higher percentage shot. Sometimes it's a difficult (for most players) 2-pointer that is the best choice, because certain players can make that shot regularly.

Although don’t people call KD “The Slim Reaper”? Not that it doesn’t still work.
