50 points vs OKC and the buzzer beater

Or 55 Points vs Denver but the Blazers lost

How can it be anything aside from the OKC game with the buzzer beater…?

The Denver was arguably the best playoff performance ever by anybody and he broke the playoff 3point record. Not his fault RoCo missed a dunk and CJ stepped out of bounds.

this is a difficult choice, made more so by the iconic wave bye-bye to OKC after the game winner

statistically, Dame was much much better against Denver: 55 points vs 50 points; 10 assists vs 6 assists; 1 turnover vs 6 turnovers. He had 3 steals and 1 block against OKC; 1 steal and 3 blocks against Denver. The advanced metrics were an even bigger advantage in the Denver game: a TS% of .968 vs .685; A FTRate of .417 vs .242; an assist rate of 40.1% vs 26.3%; a BPM of 31.1 vs 16.7

what Dame did against Denver those playoffs was special; he averaged 34pts, 4reb, 10ast. A PER of 30.4; TS% of .660, and led the NBA playoffs that year in OBPM, winshare/48, and BPM. Yeah, Blazers lost that game, and the series. But that was finally what pushed Dame past his barrier of intense loyalty to Portland and question if he would ask for a trade. I'm pretty sure that's what started the ball rolling on firing Stotts, firing Olshey, and dismantling the perpetual reboots of olshey's blind vision. For that reason, I say the Denver game was bigger

Yeah this is a silly question his game against Denver was very plausibly the greatest playoff performance in history based on advanced stats particularly. I blew away the prior best by I wanna say Barkley in Phoenix the year they went to the Finals and it's the greatest performance I've ever seen by any athlete in any sport. That's what made CJ stepping out of bounce so unforgivable. The fact that it helped get Olshey, Stotts and CJ out the door more than likely is what made it by far the more important of the two.

No need to compare. Just appreciate we get to watch!

Being in the building for "the wave", though... That's priceless. As the only playoff game I've ever attended... Pretty damn special.

I was there also. Doesn't get much better than that. The crowd leaving the MODA was crazy.

Moi aussi. My favorite part was the dancing lady getting up on the stage with the band outside. That was FUN.

Don't remember the section but from where Dame shot it I was pretty much directly behind him, and maybe slightly to the left of him.

Yep! You, Eric, and I meeting at Jacks. Honestly after the shot it was bedlam. Hugging and high fiving strangers. I remember I just sat in my seat for like 10 minutes taking it all in. They told me I had to leave lmao. Then I met Eric outside but it was all a blur.

It's always hard to explain being at an all time moment for your hometown team.

As I said, I was at Game 5 vs OKC but I think it was Game 3 vs Denver that was even better. Four overtimes. If Jokic had hit both free throws, it would've gone 5OT. It was one of the most competitive games in the history of the NBA.

Honorable Mentions for games that season:

Jake Layman's 24 point quarter (don't remember who it was against) and Game 82

Haha. I somehow found a single ticket for $100 in the 200 section a day before the game. I didn't even think twice lol.
