That is quite possibly the most casual ho-hum great block I've ever seen. Also he got kind of high.

Hoping this thread just keeps getting bumped for the next 15 years.

I hope so too and think it will.

I don't imagine this happening but I'm also keeping my hopes up that the posts in here don't turn at some point to the kinds of things posted when Isaiah JR Rider was doing crazy shit all of the time.

Yeah, you're right. If Shaedon only becomes as good as Kobe, what a disappointment that would be !

Shhhhh. The rape (and payoff) part of the Legacy of St. Kobe must never be mentioned.

He was a noble man dying doing what he loved most--flying unadvisedly in a helicopter over LA traffic.

Personally Kobe was an entitled me-first scumbag and on the court the ultimate black hole. The all time NBA missed shot record truly encapsulates the who he was. Even with the draw of the LA market and his great talent, good players did not want to join him... we heard that regularly in the off seasons. I'd much rather Sharpe emulate a class act like Dame or dozens of others great talents then that insufferable A-hole.

Agree with much of this. However I would say Kobe was still a legit top 50 player of all time. That's a great accomplishment. Lillard isn't there yet IMO.

But Kobe wasn't a top10 player. He wasn't as good as many of his fans portray him. He certainly should never be in a GOAT Jordan discussion. Put Wade or even Billups or dozens of guys on a team with Gasol/Odom/Artest/Ariza/etc with Phil coaching they win at least two titles. Put about 100 players on a team with prime Shaq and that solid supporting cast they win 3 or more.

So there's at least dozens of players I'd list as a goal to emulate for Shaedon above Kobe. That's ignoring the off court issues, factoring that in its many hundreds if not thousands. So yeah, saying Shaedon is reminiscent or should try to follow Kobe is stupid.

just because people think it'd be cool if his game emulated Kobe's doesn't mean they want his personality to emulate his, or that the stupid things that Kobe did are what Shaedon will do.

Someday people will say, "before Shaedon Sharpe, there was Michael Jordan"

    Who’s the GOAT
    MJ or SS

It’s a bit early for that kind of talk but it’s sure fun to dream.

My most enduring memory of Kobe Bryant is Kobe with the ball, pesky Steve Blake crouched in legal defensive position, Kobe Bryant swings around and purposely elbows Steve Blake right in the throat. Ref calls foul on Steve Blake. Fuck Kobe Bryant, and the ref he rode in on too.

I don't think Shaedon's personality is anything like Kobe Bryant. Can we please stop comparing Shaedon to that asshole?

Shaedon’s athleticism and body type are very much like Kobe.

I have no desire to see Shaedon emulate Kobe's me-first (and second and third) selfish iso game jacking up one ridiculous shot after another. I'd much rather see him move the ball early and play team ball like (for instance) Curry.

kobe was very much an introvert in his early years. he was also maniacal about working, and we've heard good things about shaedon's work ethic and confidence.

I’ve heard many players say that unlike Jordan who was more outgoing with his teammates and liked going out, Kobe spent most of his days playing video games in his hotel room if he wasn’t at the gym. Maybe part of that was because he wasn’t even old enough to drink yet, I don’t know.

But that does sound like Shaedon right now.
